Is the GPS antenna required for the retrofit. I heard a long time ago that it was only to boost the signal. (there is already one built into the unit. I need to know if this is true or not. To get a new antenna is a bit pricey but if needed I will get it. All help is appreciated.

 

i would say yes... i used it during my install.. the unit in the trunk has a separate port just for the gps unit..
