Myth or Fact: Heated seats hurt leather?
Okay. Now that the weather is cold and we ALL have heated seats, I want to know the truth. I have heard in the past that using seat heaters dries out your leather. Is that true? Any opinions are much appreciated. I understand that we can't do everything to keep our cars in perfect condition, but if I need to condition my seats more or use the heat seaters less, Im willing. Thoughts?

Scorch those buns, man - if you park your car outside during the summer, the seat gets hotter than a $3 pistol, so you're already there.
Heat does dry out leather, so - you gotta condition it periodically. Also makes it look better, keeps it from staining, yadayadayada.
Conditioning the leather needs to be done periodically, and I am sure there will be a number of opinions about how often. I try to do it myself about every three months in whatever car I own.

According to my coworker, heat does damage leather. Once I was asking him why he puts the windshield shades on when by the time he leaves work it would be dark already. To protect the leather is what he told me. He drives a TL, btw.

Some folks ahve had good luck with "Pinnacle" products.

Lexol is a bit pricey, but for a 27-30k investment, it's well worth it. I plan on keeping this car until it dies (and you can't kill a Honda engine). My plan is to keep this car for my kids one day
