Salesmen bank on your emotional attachment and desire of the product. They pull this type of stuff because they know the demand for the TSX at the moment is very high. They're out for as much profit as possible. Its bait and switch of sorts. They want to see if you're going to pay the difference.

I always shop via the internet first to weed out the $hi+heads and then have them fax me agreement. Even an email quote is written.
You should consider checking the entire state and/or going up to the big city, at least contact dealerships up there via the internet. Get as many quotes of cars with VIN numbers and then go back to the local dealerships and deal.

Dealers get away with this crap because no one takes the time to complain through the proper channels, one complaint does not change make - but a few more and who knows.
