Is it a Honda "H" on the back of the key fob?

I want a key with the integrated functions, but I want an Acura "A" on mine

Very nice...where did you get the key?
Did you just take it to the dealer to get it programmed?

Thanks!

you can order one online for about $36 + shipping but i didn't want to wait for it so i went to a local Honda dealer and bought the key without cutting and programming for $60. it wasn't too hard but it does take some time and patient. programming the keyfob can be done fairly easy.

Storing transmitter codes:
The codes of up to three transmitters can be read into the keyless receiver unit memory. (If a fourth code is stored, the code which was input first will be erased.)

NOTE: It is important to maintain the time limits between the steps. Make sure the doors and the hatch are closed.

1. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

2. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver under the audio unit.

3. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

4. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON (II).

5. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver under the audio unit.

6. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

7. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON (II).

8. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver under the audio unit.

9. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch OFF.

10. Within 1 to 4 sec., turn the ignition switch ON (II).

11. Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button with the transmitter aimed at the receiver under the audio unit.

12. YOU SHOULD NOW HAVE HEARD THE SOUND OF THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS! Within 1 to 4 sec., push the transmitter lock or unlock button again.

13. Within 10 sec., aim any remaining transmitters (up to two additional ones) whose codes you want to store at the receiver, and press the transmitter lock or unlock buttons. Confirm that you can hear the sound of the door lock actuators after each transmitter code is stored. (OPTIONAL)

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and pull out the key.

15. Confirm proper operation of the transmitters.

So, did you cut apart the new keyfob and insert your original key section with the transponder chip? Do you have some close-up pics?

I checked out that RSX forum. You really gotta cut the crap out of the key. Otherwise, GREAT MOD!!!

If I didn't want to go through the trouble of cutting up my TSX key, could I just get the Accord key cut?

We talked about this before and the Accord key itself is totally different. In order to make this work, you will have to put an OEM Acura key in place of the Accord key.

Can you just get the honda FOB from ebay, and then take that blank key and get it cut at acura? Or is splicing both keys neccessary?

Bet someone could pick up some easy bucks by buying a couple dozen acura blanks and doing this then selling them.

You can get the blanks off of ebay, though most are aftermarket, but still good, the only issue is getting them cut and having the transponder programmed i guess.

Which ones are the proper blanks I'm looking on ebay and i'm not sure which one to get. I'm going to need 1 Accord Key and 1 TSX key, all I can find is the TSX fob and there are a ton of Accord keys

There's this seller on ebay called streetkeys he sells them in a pair, I believe its after market, they seem more professional than others and have locations all over the world to program the transponder. Goes for 69.99.

I've looked everywhere for the Honda part number and I can't find anything. Looks like they don't promote that number on the Internet and it makes no sense to me.

i don't know anyone, but i was given the username and password back in 2000, and honda hasn't changed it since then. since i can not give out the username and password, i will give a hint that they are both the same and have the word honda in it. Basically if you need a part number for anything and can't find it then PM me and i'll get it to you

It's interesting that the site said "Not Available For The Dealers".
