Angry My car smashed by those BIG ORANGE BUCKETS!

I was going down North on I-35 in Dallas, and there was construction that was being done to the right lane so they blocked of the whole lane with those Orange Buckets (the ones that look like an upside down trash can), so I was in the middle lane going down, and out of no where this car merges into the middle lane, almost hits me!! I take a hard right trying to go in between the orange buckets, and all of my car but the front left fender cleared the bucket! I knew that guy saw me cause he swerve to the left lane and then back to the middle lane. DIDN'T EVEN STOP!!!! So I continue to drive and pulled for to check the damage, and there it was the A BIG FAT DENT IN MY CAR!!! Went home and got up open the garage it the image was worse with light on it. See for it yourself guys!

Edit: IMG link fixed

Sorry to hear that.

You've got to host the pics somewhere like www.imageshack.us

We can't view pics from a password-protected yahoo site.

Well if I am not mistaken, since I didn't get the stupid punk! Insurance should cover it under non-insured Motoriest.... I HOPE!

I am not too sure about that whole uninsured motorist thing. With my IS300, a car in front of me ran over a truck tread, kicked it up through the front end of my car. I called the insurance company, and the first thing they asked for was the plate number and description of the car that ran over it. I knew nothing, so it was all on me. Paid full deductible, insurance preminum went up, and was added to my information so other companies could see in the event of an insurance change.
Granted you were trying to avoid an accident, but with those big ass things in the road, you'd been better off getting tagged by that car and having them pay for it. It's hard to make a choice at the moment though.
Sorry to see your car looking like that. I'd be PISSED! Good luck with the insurance thing. Let us know how it turns out.

So, in your situation, the person who ran over the piece of tire is at fault? Yes?

Man, i wish I could install a web-cam behind my rear-view, just in case.

As posted elsewhere, I too was in a fender-bender not my fault. Where are you planning to take it for repair? I'm thinking back to dealer (Goodson). Although I am not convinced that they are overall the best body shop, I tend to think dealer association will do better paint matching and might have a clue how to disassemble and reassemble the parts required.

Any insight? Recommendations?

Just this morning on the highway on the way to work, there was a piece of metal in the next lane over that looked like it had fallen off a car. The car in the next lane over from me ran over it, and it was thrown up and hit the side of my car. I heard the clunk as it hit. Unfortunately, I didn't think to get the license plate of the car that ran over it. I didn't realize that they could be liable. Anyway, when I got to work, I looked at the side of the car, and sure enough, there is a gouge in the paint down at the very bottom, on the section under the door. It could be worse, but it's annoying as hell. Does anyone have any experience touching up scratches like that with paint? What kind of paint would I use?

That sucks. You can get touch up paint from your dealer. You just need to know your paint code which can be referenced here: https://acurazine.com/forums/showpos...02&postcount=5

Man that sucks big time!! As for insurance coverage, you will be lucky if they file it under Uninsured Motorist. More than likely it will be filed under your collision coverage.
