MSN Autos 04 vs. 05
The EPA numbers should only be used as a ballpark. The way they calculate fuel economy is a joke. If you put the body of a hummer on a TSX it would still get the same rating because their calculations don't account for wind resistance. They just put a car on a dyno and run a few tests noting how much fuel it used in the elapsed time.
There really isn't any mechanical difference between the 05's and 04's so the different ratings are probably just fluctuations between test runs.
I just did a 1500km road trip and noticed about 28-29mpg average. City driving is probably around 24mpg.

werd.. i kinda figured out how to drive in gas-saving mode
I usually get 35~37mpg on freeway (no traffic almost) in city, i can't get over 28! well, tsx is really good mileage car
back to the topic.. haha
the # are different but i beileve it doesn't really make any difference

Yeah, the best gas mileage test is just to ask people and compare driving styles. If you drive fast and break a lot. Then you'll do worse. I get about 28 driving around town b/c I drive on highways alot. I try to cruise at around 70 and usually get 30-35 for highway. You can try for close to 40 if you cruise at 60 behind a big rig.
