More Headroom???

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get another inch of headroom out of the TSX? I am 6'2" and prefer to have my driving position relatively "upright", with my left leg slightly bent when the clutch pedal fully engaged. In this position my head lingers very close to the left side of the sunroof cowling. I wish that Acura gave us tall people a choice to not have a sunroof, as this would save a few inches, but since they do not I must look for advice. All ideas welcome...

Lower the seat some more, if possible...??

Otherwise, it may be time to adopt a slightly more laid back driving position.

And welcome everyone to my 6500 post

Having pulled the seat for the pass side, I don't think the seats can be lowered. The bracket and floorpan do not lend themselves to it. Older cars, I would use a big deadblow to change the floorpan shape, but the TSX won't even let that happen (I was figgerin' how to hide an amp under the seat...)

I am 6'0", but I have a 30" inseam, making me ALL upper body. I have some of the same problem you mention. I have just had to tilt back a bit. Of course, I have an AT.

Can you adjust the clutch pedal cable setting for a different pedal location?

Pushing straight down on the adjustment lever on the electronic seat will lower it. Make sure not to push to the left or right while pushing down on it or it will adjust the tilt also. Push down while keeping the lever parallel with the ground will lower it.

I found this out when I got my tint done. A short girl did my tint so she had raised it really high. I got in and my knees hit the steering wheel right away.

Hopefully you haven't tried this and it works for you!

There was a Top Gear episode where Jeremy was driving around with his head sticking out of the sunroof. It was hilarious to watch him try and drive like that.

yea i think i saw that top gear episode and the gt40 he couldn't fit either...btw that guy actually bought a gt......

i just went to move my car and when i "lifted" the seat to the highest position it got no headroom (i'm 6') but when i let it down i would say i have about 3 inches and i tried this at the most upright position i could get it to..... i also noticed that if the sunroof cover is closed it is a tight fit, but if you slide it back you make another 2 inches or so......

For the first while I had the TSX, I kept the seat way up high because I couldn't get used to the high window sills and dash relative to my previous car (89 Accord). However, I was bumping my head from time to time and I've gradually become used to having it lower. I'm relatively tall at 6'1", but I tend to sit short - long legs, short torso. It still feels a bit like sitting in an oversized bathtub, but I understand that it's safer to be surrounded by metal than glass and there is a visibility vs safety tradeoff.

I don't see how sunroof open vs closed could make too much difference. You'd have to be leaning way right to make use of that space as the left side of the opening seems to go right about down the middle of the driver seat.

I'm 6'4" and was afraid the TSX would not work for my frame, but I was pleasently surprised, a huge upgrade from my previous cars, '90Civic, '00Camaro, and much better than the wifey's '00CRV
