i have 900 miles on my tsx. im a little worried about my fuel consumption. for instance, my last tank got me 220 miles until it went in reserve. i also found it interesting that when i filled it up, it only used 13.5 gallons. does that mean there are 3.5 or so gallons in reserve? so i averaged around 16 miles per gallon. yes, it has been almost all city driving, but a 4 cylinder engine should at least get in the low 20s, right? i asked the service dept at the local acura dealer, and they said this was normal during the 'break in' period, and that i should be concerned if im in the first 5000 miles and there are no lights on. this doesnt sound right to me. thoughts?

ps: ifve been using only premium gas, and i dont drive the car that hard.

From full, i get 150 miles till i hit the middle notch using premium, go figure

 

after your engine wears in more. you'll get much better milage. same thing happen to me, first 1000 miles, milage was pretty bad. i have over 3k miles, and getting good milage. i think i got almost 400 before reserve came on.

 

My first fill up was only slightly better than yours. It got better after the second fill up, so don't worry about it.
