Thumbs up Metal trim with Parchment looks great!

Hey, I talked with James at Acura dealership about replacing wood trim to metal trim with parchment with white pearl TSX, he told me that he will try to see if they can replace it or not. Next day he called back at my house and told me that they can replace wood trim to metal trim, but it will be costing about $1,000.00 with labor. I told him that I will think about it and figure it out. Here is a picture of metal trim with parchment from euro accord. Check it out, bro. http://www.clubtsx.com/bbs/showthrea...=3747:bandito:

Here...

Nice, but definitely not worth $1,000, not even if they included the chrome shiftgate and the glossy look of the center console.

This is old!

LOL, the posts are dated from June 2003. For a minute, I thought everyone had migrated back there.

Hey, thanks for feedback, how can I replace wood trim to metal trim with parchment? I am considering about getting white pearl or silver metalic or carbon grey pearl. I thought that carbon grey pearl looked nice, but hard time to find which wheels would be looking sporty on carbon grey. I am sure that white pearl and silver metallic will be easy to find wheels to match it perfectly. But my concern is that color interior with white pearl. Thanks.

I looked up prices at http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.org/ and the silver plastic piece price is $32.14 vs. the plastic wood "plood" price of $70.28. The pieces are just snapped in but they are in there tight (as I discovered while running wires), so most of the $1000 quote is probably for labor and I'd certainly ask a dealer to specify in writing that they guarantee that they won't mar the surrounding dash and door surfaces removing the old trim pieces.

$32 for the parts and $968 for labor? Even if it were $200 for the silver bits it would seem grossly overpriced to have a dealer do this.

Thanks for that website bob. You'll need to replace six trim pieces of various prices in total. IIRC in a previous post someone suggested doing a trade, although I'd be concerned about the condition of the removed pieces if they are only a press-fit.

nope it's not do able... as i said on the other thread..

i think shiftright's dealer dind't look at the parts correctly

every wood piece would be bought seperatly execept the
one on the around the climate control as it is part of the whole
consol which cost 900 USD.... i was really pissed when i found
that out...
