If you haven't heard, Mazda is offering to buy back the RX-8 due to the OVER ESTIMATE of horsepower.

Well there's another reason the TSX is a good choice.
Underpromised. Overdelivered. It's nice when any marketing dept. within any company is able to stick to its guns and adhere to this basic sales initiative.

Has anyone else dynoed their car?

The article is funny, especially about Nissan's problem with their Q45: "Nissan said it tested the car under ideal weather conditions, using a light base model and lightweight driver. It didn't offer buyers anything to make good."

But the article brings up differences between HP with manual vs automatic trannies. We all know you lose HP with auto trannies, but Mazda shows two different HP figures: with MT they now get 238 HP, but with AT they now get 197 HP. Do MT and AT RX-8s have different engines? If not, why does Acura quote 200 HP with both the MT and AT models????

the rx8 originally ame with a high horsepower(250hp, manual only) and a low horsepower(210hp, manual or auto) which is what accounts for that discrepancy. The funny thing to note is the high horsepower only puts down 175-180 hp and 128 or so lbft) I haven't seen a dyno of the low horsepower but it's likey very similar. People are thinking it's either ecu or emissions related.
