Manuals are rare?
I was told the same thing when I went to order my 6MT CG w/ navi. The dealer said he could find a bunch of ATs, but I told him that wasn't acceptable and ended up searching through dealer website inventories myself until I eventually found it.

There's a CG 6mt navi and a NBP 6mt non-navi over at Keyes Acura in Van Nuys in the San Fernando Valley as of 4/9/05. I saw them in the back lot as i was trying to kill some time during an oil change. I'm pretty sure they're still there.

My Dad, Mom & Uncle are urging me to get an AT tho. They say getting an MT will be fun for the first couple years...
I've been driving a 5spd Accord Coupe LX for almost a year now ... it's still a lot of fun. I enjoy DRIVING it a lot more than RIDING an automatic ...

Is the current rarity of the 6spd normal?

Not so rare, I found two dealerships that have em in southern California. In multiple colors (but, alas, no Milano Red).

It's great for the highway merging too. When you are too busy (in my case, lazy) to shift just leave it in Dummy mode and it still does a good job.But get what you really want, driving a car you don't like day after day gets tiring reeeeaal quick.

You pretty much have full control of the transmission and you can switch between Dummy and Master mode at anytime. I love how I can downshift to third on the highway at my prompting to pass those "not quite fast enough" cars in the fast lane.

I understand your affinity for the downshift & high revving. However, I don't think it's as fulfilling without a clutch pedal..
I did get to test drive the automatic and try that sport shift mode. I thought the gear indicator in the instrument area was pretty suave, but it didn't feel 100% responsive. I would nudge the shifter and I'd imagine the computer going "teek teek ta teek teek PLING" (calculating stuff) then finally Upshifting or Downshifting.

I think I know South Coast has about 4 of them...

Of all the sport shifts I test drove, it was actually very fast to shift. I can't recall now, but I think the shift occurs before the gear indicator changes. I don't use the gear indicator too often, mostly when I shift from Dummy to Master mode.
Too bad Ohio is so far away from Cali, there are a always MT's on the lot here. Most TSX drivers here are of the older, non-enthusiast variety...
We ordered a Meteor Silver MT last January. It's due in on April 16. The dealer's estimated arrival day was off by one day. Our dealer warned us that the factory may not build this color combination with 6-speed, because most production is devoted to auto trans cars. The dealer wanted $1000 down non-refundable, because they were concerned that a 6-speed car would be dificult to sell if we backed out before the car is delivered. They explained that the demographics for the TSX is for the automatic car. Too bad, because the character of the car truly shines with the 6-speed IMO. Anyway, ours should be here in a cople of days. By the way, we paid 28,650 for non-nav, including tax, tags and fees. We purchased the car at Bloomington-Acura-Subaru, in Bloomington Minnesota.

I bought mine January 18, and at the time, no manuals with navi's in any of the nor cal dealerships.
My dealer just barely found mine, even the NBP color as I wanted, just as it was being delievered to Mike Harvey's Acura. In fact, when the driver came to pick it up, it hadn't even gone through PDI yet. What wasn't cool though is that they drove it 127 miles to Elk Grove Acura.
I hate how Honda makes every car they sell seem super hard and impossible to get. Wow we finally got an S2000 in the lots.
They dont deal on prices of S2's I got quoted 59,400 Canadian with grad discount 750. Also, 2 month wait? BS!!! If you put an order to Honda 1 month it should be there. Bakas!

there might be 1 in California and your dealer doesn't really know, but its not hard to believe.
