Manual transmission fluid changed at 14k

So I decided to change my manual tranmission fluid myself. I've heard from racing folks that it should be changed soon and frequently if you, um, shift "spiritedly." I noticed after changing my Manual tranmission fluid, my shifts are much smoother, gears go in with less effort, and overall great response..just like when the car was new, but better. Has anyone changed their manual transmission fluid also and noticed the same? Or, is it all in my head

The dealer drained and refilled my fluid twice, and I have approximately 16k miles on my car.

But I hardly felt any difference...

Ah, I should add that the process was done because they were working on my transmission, twice.

Many S2000 owners report the same after changing their MT fluid.

Very interesting, since it's more smoother and shifts are more precise. I will definitely change it more often now, since it's not too expensive to do it myself. I wonder why it's true, is it because the oil breaks down after a while, or the buildup of gunk or metal shavings?

Some of it might have to do with the kind of oil you replace the original with, but in most cases you won't get much of a change replacing the tranny fluid.

I used genuine Honda/Acura Manual transmission fluid..you will need 3 bottles, but you'll only need 10% of the third bottle (save for next time). First RTFM , there are nice pictures and details on what to do in the owners manual. Some more hints..drain plug is in the "middle" of the car, you have to access it from crawling underneath the car (jack it up and use jack stands!!). The fill plug is on top, but it's a bitch to uncap. So, I used a transmission funnel (you'll need it) and filled it from the side plug (remove driver side front wheel) , which auto-spills when it's full. Make sure the car is level when filling the transmission (meaning not jacked up on one side), so you won't overfill the transmission.

No, MT fluid not NOT brake fluid. Ask for some Manual transmission fluid at the dealer. MT fluid is almost like regular oil you put in your engine, with some additives.
