Male/Female TSX ratio?

I was just wondering what the ratio will most likely be. Other then the fact that a lot of girls who do get the tsx, do not come the the forums. More chance that the guy will. Just wondering if anyone has a really good figure or estimate?

JMO but I've noted many younger women target Neon's, Eclipse's
and Civic's with preference for auto tranny. (It's easier to use your cell phone and do your hair with an auto)
Older women want more status, size etc. Think Trailblazers,
Hummer 2, 40K plus SUV's or luxury cars.
I've asked many why they want such a big vehicle, their answer
is "I feel safer if I'm in an accident".
I always pity who they hit but....
I love a nimble smaller vehicle that cuts through traffic easier.

male , to answer your question.

In LA a lot of girls drive the celica, eclipse, and the rsx. I would say now that more then 50% of these cars are driven by cars here in LA from what ive seen. However some do like the traditional 4 door sedans. Whether it maybe be from an accord or to a BMW.

However im wondering compared to the BMW, Benz or whatever, how the male/female ratio compare? If i had to guess, im betting that there is a bigger female ratio for the BMWs and Benz and even accord compared to the tsx? At least i hope so. :P

WAY more of a chance. What you're getting here is the ratio of people coming on a forum, much more so than who has the car.

just to offset my first vote.

Here is my guess. MT-90% male 10% female. AT %50-%50. So overall the ratio would be something like 65% male, 35% female.

This is just my guess

Just for comparison sake- at the toronto TSX meet, there were 10 TSX owners- 9 were male, 1 female. 9 were manual, 1 auto.

i don't think more than 20% of TSX sales are going to be the 6-speed. so even if 100% of the MTs were bought by males and 50% of the ATs were bought by females, at least 40% of the total sales would be from women.

Remember, on the other side we went nuts over that "review" that said the car was targeted mainly at women?

I remember the writer had a wonderfully preppy name -- I think a first initial, then a couple of names followed by "III."
Spilly gave him a pretty good what-for.

I doubt that overall AT or MT that 40% of the TSXs will be driven by women. Not that it's a bad thing but i wouldn't like that. Im hoping its less then 30% however.

There was also a thread on the other side where the poster was hoping that this wasn't turning into a chick car because everyone he saw was female. Then the guys were agreeing with him all worried about it. I replied with - if you're offended by a chick in a TSX then fuck you......

female here.

But ponder this--I would have gotten a coupe (i.e. RSX, G35), but needed something that could haul future kids easily (I know this makes most of you cringe at the thought, but hey, its reality). There are probably other females with similar motivation.

And yes, I have an auto (after selling my manual Integra).

Could this be insight into Larch's obsession with reliability? Larch will you'll be having children soon?!

I would say the ratio is close to 70% male and 30% female. Thats traditionally what is has been for Honda/Acura sedans. For coupes its anywhere from 50% female to 70%. The Prelude was the big exception, 80% of its buyers were male.

I get my numbers from Honda itself, from their own fact books I read when I sold 'em.

If you read what an Acura spokesman said during an interview.....Acura expects its average consumer to be a male making around $80k/yr........Women who have strong interest in automotive news + cars in general may select the TSX, but most Females will go for a Mercedes C class or 3-series mostly because of the brand/image. Acura seems to be less known among people as a company and luxury brand. That may be bad for some ppl and HMC but I personally like the unique/Distinction it brings. Even the new RSX isn't that common in Dallas from what I have seen~

Interesting...I fit the first profile (except the male part) and definitely the first half of the second profile. I did test drive the Benz and was a former bimmer owner, so I guess my response to that is: been there, done that, and now I'm in a TSX!
