Don't take offense, but if you have been longer than half a month you would know that this question gets asked and answered many times. The reason there is a search button is so that new, meaningless threads do not have to created and site bandwith does not have to be wasted.

Good night, people. Cut the (semi)noob a break. Eventually, EVERYTHING about the TSX is going to be asked if it hasn't already. So all posts will either be something that has already been addressed, or it will be titled something like TSX Over Frontwise Exceeds Turn Soon. So either answer the question or don't. If you just want Acurazine to be an online reference library, make a wiki or something. Otherwise, don't chastise people when they ask questions they don't know the answers to. That's the point of a message board!

I agree with your ideals, but go tell that to the admins and see what they tell you

If they're worried about storage space, perhaps they should be more concerned with threads like the link I mentioned above. While I find it amusing, it sure doesn't add value to the discussion.

I think this question has been asked once a week. I'll talk to Dan about including in in FAQ.

I beg to differ. That thread provided a welcome humourous interlude between serious threads. Threads that could have been avoided by using the Search feature are just rehashing old subjects.
Granted, though, the occasional new thread on an old subject can end up being a humourous interlude.

But to be fair, most of us at one point or another, have started or will start a new thread before thinking to do a Search.

I think it is called Forum Etiquette

Plus it is in the rules.

*Before starting a new thread, search first to check that the thread you are about to start hasn't already been written.

http://www.acura-tsx.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14387

I do not make the rules, but I try to follow them since the board is free.

If you think we are roasting the newbs, you should check on some other boards. We are rather tame here.

Maybe if the vBulletin search didn't suck so much people would use it more.

To those who replied in a civil manner thanks.

I did check the FAQ and did not find it there. I do not carry around the Owners Manual with me.

Those who jumped down my throat -and those who found those replies humourous - you badly need a lesson in civility, manners and etiquette if you ever want to get beyond you current job levels.

ok you are new here and welcome but you have to understand that those people dont need lessons they just want you to read the rules first. maybe this is the first forum you have ever used but I will tell you go sign up on another forum and you will get the same thing if you ask a simple question.

I mean there was a thread the other day called do our mirrors fold in. I mean for real people either need to read the owners manual or even just look at your car. it is pretty obvious that our mirrors fold in.

Or even ignore it altogether and let somebody else answer him. But for some people, the urge to wisecrack is insatiable.

So being nice on a internet forum is what I needed to be doing all this time to get that big promotion i've been hoping for. Damn, wish you came around sooner

Noob bashing is going to take place on every forum and essentially in every aspect of life. Calm down, accept the fact that people are going to respond in ways you may not like. If you can't take the heat, call your dealer for the answers. This isn't a therapy group and you are not a beautiful butterfly emerging out of its cacoon. It's an car forum. There are rules here. If not followed expect to hear about it. Learn from the mistake and move on...

Hope I wasn't too harsh

No just being yourself. Actually in my company we reject people with your kind of attitude for employment no matter how brilliant. So take the advice from someone very senior in the business world and perhaps 2x your age forebearance, patience, humility and manners are qualities to cultivate. It will take one a long way in ones career than being aggressive obnoxious and impatience.

BTW cars is not my hobby it is something I drive - that is why I drive a TSX.

Look...here's the deal do a search on "maint light reset" and you'll see the same thing each time. This isn't a new thing picking on people that start a thread about this. It's the classic pie in the face waiting to happen thread. What's most interesting is since I've been here the people that have started this thread are not single digit posters. They've been here for quite sometime and have yet to even try said "search" option. Maybe the fricken search link needs to be ultra-violet colors so people will use it. Usually people that DO use the search say so when they start a thread that they think might seem to be a relatively basic topic.

Over and over again if someone starts ANY topic on here that HAS BEEN ALREADY started they will almost immediately be pointed (not always with fluffy gloves) to the search capability of this forum. Either that or they will be told to RTFM if it's something that has been so overly asked that people have gotten so tired of answering it that it's become comical. If it's not the first line in the FAQ it should be to go check out the owner's manual first.

As previously mentioned this topic should definitely be added to the FAQ. I'm surprised it hasn't already (if in fact is hasn't).

owkone,
Your RL job and your RL stated age really don't mean a hell of alot on here so don't think people are just going to respect your age... especially since there's truely no way to even verify your inputted age (not saying you're lying, but still).

Respect is earned on here not granted based on your age or background.
Most of the people on here a fairly good natured. Most of the time if the question is worth any true interest they will give their personal and/or helpfull opinion. However, if you criticize the way they have answered the question be prepared to be FLAMED even if they may have been in the wrong... and I'm NOT suggesting answering in a way that would violate any rules.

<rambling meter has reached maximum>

Peace
