Magnetic Car Bra, any comments...

I have asked some questions about the 3M clear bra and I decided to check E-bay for other ideas and I ran into a "Magnetic bra".
Has anyone had any experience with these, do they protect you from chips? The bumper is fiberglass and less likely to chip like the hood. The bra only covers the front of the hood. Search "Acura TSX bra" and you will see what I cam talking about.

It makes quite a bit of sense for someone like me. I take about a 3 hour highway trip about every 3 weeks to visit my wife's family or mine. My wife uses the car the rest of the time around town.
My thinking is to keep this around for the trips and throw it on before I go and take it off when I get back. The concept sounds great, what's the catch?

Any comments?

I do believe these work quite well...the only problem is that I have a million chips on my bumper and some chips on my hood. if your car is pretty new, do yourself a favor and get a clear bra now...don't cheap out on it.

The problem is I have only found 1 individual here in Laredo that does the 3M installation and I can't get any comments about him. No stores do it around here, or atleast none of the large reputable shops.
I was thinking about just doing the small kit which includes the hood, fenders and mirrors, not the bumper, etc. He wants to charge me like $220 for the small kit, 3M of course.

the bumper is the part of the front that gets the most chips. if anything, you will definitely want that covered. it might be worth it to try and do a DIY.

Definitely get a clear bra. Looking back, I wish I had gotten this when I took delivery. Now my bumper looks like the face of the moon.
