Looking for a ~25k daily driver...Legacy GT vs TSX?

Ok, heres my deal. Right now I have an 01 Mustang GT, built/blown, 550rwhp etc. I have an 00 Focus that I drive for work and every day. With my job, I drive a lot, like 25k a year, but Im wanting to upgrade my DD.

Im considering the Legacy GT (most likely 05) or the TSX (most likely 06). Both would be black on black or the dark grey exterior.

The Legacy GT has the AWD of course, nice looks, some balls and its slightly less expensive, although they are pretty close. However nav and bluetooth are not an option with a manual transmission.

The Acura has bluetooth and nav available in the 06 model, and is a bit more luxurious. Some better amenities, a 6-speed, but Im not sure if its a little girly? and not as ballsy as the soob. Plus, its FWD.

Im trying to determine which would be the better buy, and if leasing a new Acura would be an iption with my mileage. Id probly just end up financing an 06 though.

What do you think?

TSX all the way... the Subie is a nice ride (I test drove one before I decided on my TSX). I didn't like the transmission (rubbery feel, sluggish), felt the suspension to be a bit loose (may the spec.B would have been OK), and I didn't like the fuel mileage ratings...

The other thing is that to get the options on the car to make it comparable to a TSX, it would have actually cost more than the TSX...

My buddy has a Legacy Gt, its nice but compared to the tsx it just doesn't do it. He even says he likes my car better and he loves his sub. True the TSX is front wheel drive and that kinda sucks, but the car is balanced so nicely it wont sacrifice performance with unwanted torque steer etc. Also I have a 6MT and the tranny is very nice, I even like it better then the current generation BMW 3 seires tranny. IMHO go with the TSX.

My brother in law has the gt and with little effort it is much faster than the tsx, if your looking to mod the engine of your daily drive and want speed go with the legacy. with a couple hundred dollar ecu remap (if i'm not mistaking) the gt can get almsot 300 horse. However the tsx is much more refined, more comfortable, and higher quality (especially the interior). needless to say, i chose the tsx.

You might want to hit the search button. There have been lots of threads on the Subbie vs. TSX.

Meh, I have enough power in the Stang. I dont think I care as much for my DD. Plus, Im driving a Focus now so the TSX would be a nice improvement Im sure in the power department.

Any of you guys know if the TL navi is the same as the TSX?

I read a review on Cnet that says the map rendering on the TSX's navigation is a bit dated looking. Can anyone comment on that?

I can't directly comment on the "datedness", but are nice graphics really the reason you'd want a navi that's commonly rated as #1 in the industry (others may have caught up by now)? I do know that there have been updates to the DVD the system uses, but I don't know if that included updated visuals.

Personally, I skipped the navi all together and spent that $$ on upgraded speakers and amp etc. because I am keeping the car for 10 years. Now THAT is a way to quickly make your care look like an antique: trying to sell it with 10 year old "technology"! (mobile phones will have better GPS systems by then, etc.)

Being that I am on the road all the time for work the nav and bluetooth are a must for me.

TSX it should be, then. That's my vote.

So it doesn't render in all these fancy 3D views and pretty colors. What's the big deal? At the end of the day, all the fancy views and pretty graphics that the competition uses are really just compensating for what is essentially an inferior navigation system. Functionality wise, the Honda/Acura navigation system is the highest rated OEM unit on the market.

If you want speed and some what luxury then go with gt but if you are more into luxury over speed then go with tsx. btw, 25k for 05 gt is bit pricy because my brother is about to pick up brand new 07 gt for 25.5k.

That's pretty stupid. What dealership? Do they have any used ones on the lot to try? One problem you'll run into is there aren't many MTs around. They're pretty hard to come by from what I can tell. Try another dealership if you can, even if it's just for test driving. You can always order it from the dealership of your choice, or see if they'll do a trade for you.

nothing to be over heated about. It happens all the time..if they think that you are serious enough that you are going to buy the car then they might let you but other than that, no.

Open Road in East Brunswick.

Ive decided to look for an 06 anyway. I imagine its going to be tough to find an 06 MT with Nav for sale though.

If you can swing the money, I see an 07 ASM/Ebony non-navi 6MT in Precision Acura's inventory (www.precisionacura.com).
