that sucks!!! a lot of my friends ask me to test drive it....i go if you wanna test drive the tsx go to an acura dealer. i'm just being an ass right now cause it's brand new. but still...if the accident was worse and you go through insurance to fix it. your rates can go up so you'd get screwed even more. i'd get your friend to pay for that out of his own pocket.

sorry, but no test pilots...
I let my friend drive it the past Friday, and would've had the same outcome as you had he not smash the brakes. It wasn't his fault, the driver made a right on a red, at snail pace speed while watching us coming at her...
I'm sorry to hear about your incident...I hope your car will be okay after coming out of the shop.

well i told him that he could take my tsx out for a drive because i was sick of him begging me every second.( i didnt go with him on the drive). after 3 hours, when he still wasnt back with my car, i got suspicious and called his cell phone. Thats when i learned that he ran face first into a truck. Luckly he wasnt injuried but look at my 2 weeks old car, its rulened

Sorry about your car bro, that shit sucks! The only question I have for you is, what did your insurance company say about your friend driving the car. Are they still going to cover you and repair your car? And, how much is your deductable, because I would have my friend pay for that shit!!!!!

You said he was the only person in the car? I am asking because both front airbags went off and I wondered if there was a sensor that would turn off the passenger airbag if no one was sitting there?

what're you ppl talking about "learning your lesson" and "got what you deserve" ??? That's just f*ckin' wrong to say sh!t like that.
It was an accident and it happens. Sheesh. Not like his friend dropped the clutch and aimed for a brick wall.
Friends let me borrow their cars and vice a versa. Damn, it's just a car.
Question for you readers though: If your friend has full coverage insurance, wrecks your car, does your insurance cover the damages or does his insurance? I know his insurance covers the damages on the other car for liability but what about your own car that he wrecked?

Nobody has asked to borrow or drive my car yet, and if they did, I wouldn't be thrilled about it -- but, we have to overcome that. It's like civ said.

I see our BMW friend came back.
I let friends drive my car but always ride the co-pilot seat to keep
them out of trouble.
I'm also surprised that you let him out while car was still in the
break-in period without supervision.
I'd think twice on that since most people will abuse the vehicle
when it's not theirs and nobody is around to squeal on them.
JMO though.

I had an acquaintance who "borrowed" my motorcycle (CBR F4i) and lowsided it. He promised he'd pay for every penny.
Six months later and I had nothing but excuses.
Three months later and I had successfully sued him and suspended his license. He is not paying me $350 a month for the next 18 mos.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I have a few friends that have driven my TSX since I have bought it. However, only friends that I trust, and only one of them has taken it out on the road, and I was with everybody in the car when they drove it.
I am not a big believer on borrowing people's cars though, unless I just really have to, and vice versa. Most of my friends are the same way, and are very understanding. Hope he pays to get it fixed and your insurance does not take a hit.

At least your friend is alright and not badly hurt, or worse yet...

Wow....that sucks bigtime!
It's so new you haven't even taken off the passenger side Airbag tag!
Well, hopefully your friend is a true friend and *will* come through with all the repair costs. I guess he'll owe you for a long time!
Look on the bright side: at least he didn't total the car, I guess (and he wasn't injured severely). And, you know your airbags work.

Sorry..I say this story is TOTAL B.S. Take a close look at the picture. The "MSRP Sticker" is still on the back window. Yellow crayon and bar code sticker on the windsheild tells me this car is at Port or the Dealer. Notice on interior pics that the "Airbag Warning" thingy is still hanging on the glove box.
My guess is this is a Test Drive Accident.
Maybe I am wrong...but I just don't buy it.

The airbag alone will take about 2k to replace. It looks like both fenders are damaged, as well as the bumper (and possibly parts behind the bumper) I'm sure there's more damage there than it seems. It certainly doesn't look like 14k worth though.

I'm not too young, but I have some friends I would easily trust my car with. The list is very short--but I respect there driving ability and to be honest one in particular may even top myself in level of quality defensive driving.
So, I don't question his motives.....Take it easy on the dude.
Your car doesn't look too bad. Looks like any easy fix and the car should be as good as new in a few weeks easy.
