Look what Forbes says about Acura TSX owners

Where is the picture of the huge soccer mom suv? and what that says to the opposite sex?
Or a picture of a hummer? i think those type of cars would probably say more about the driver and the type of person they are.
According to this journalist, women are the only ones that pick a car for its economic and fun value. Damn those women are always smarter than the guys.

That fits our situation. My CPA wife is buying a TSX. But, I like the car too. I prefer my 330 but the cost of ownership of a BMW is ridiculous. Acura is a much better bang for the buck. Not to mention way more reliable.

What are the reasons why females are buying a TSX. Is it cute looking? Or it is because it's like a chain reaction that if one female gets it another one will. What are the reasons?

The idea that a majority of the drivers of the TSX are female is contradicted by an article in Forbes Autos from 2005:
Acura TSX Owner Demographics
57% male
48% married
Median age of 35
84% college educated
Median household income of $82,000

Besides that, the idea that the TSX appeals to woman doesn't bother me in the least. I chose the TSX over the RSX largely because my wife liked it a lot and pointed out how much more practical and comfortable it was.

Any females that are reading this thread, what attracts you to this car? Is it the features and comfortabilities or looks? Wackura's wife said that it was the comfort and practical features that attracted her. I wonder what else? It isn't a real big deal for me. I think the car looks good for any gender. I just want to know.

My wife said likes the car for the fuel economy, reliability, safety and luxury features.
Horse Power, Handling mean absolutely nothing to her (her words). She doesn't consciously think about it, but I bet if the car was sloooow and handled like a pig in mud she wouldn't like it.
I pushed her to get the TSX for the added HP and handling over the 08 accord. It never hurts when your driving on a highway daily. Also the TSX has much better HID headlights than the accord from what I've reading. Nobody seems to like the 08 accord headlights.

Reading comprehension is your friend:
That's why we turned to them to see what the market's most popular cars for men and women, according to J.D. Power and Associates, say about their drivers. Our findings come from automaker-supplied buyer demographics.
Frankly, this thread is not helping the TSX avoid the label of being a woman's car given the way its owners have become so emotional.

I sold mine to a guy though, but it was a carbon grey 6mt/nav so it was kind of a guy color and guy transmission, but still.

I (a female) picked the TSX as it was the best combination of my top requirements-- fun, good mileage and long lasting. There were a couple other cars in my "practical" list, but they weren't any fun... Of my fun, but still practical list, the TSX was just way more logical than the Cooper S (especially as I would have really wanted the JCW!) and the A3 (a BLAST, but I was annoyed that to get remotely comfortable seats I'd have to shell out for the S-line). I learned to drive from my dad-- so I happen to like fast cars... but also know I'm not to be trusted w/ a really fast car (I've been lucky to never have gotten a ticket-- and don't want to draw attention to myself!). TSX means I can go as quick as I'd need, still have fun cornering and be comfortable for long trips. Besides, we can swap cars and I can take the WRX if I really wanna fly.
Chick-car... That'd be disgusting... What is that-- a big vanity mirror and room to store make-up or something? Bah.

If you hang around this forum long enough, you'll hear the same reasons why we all bought a TSX. Reliability, smart looks, some fun if you want, economy if you want, great value, just the right options, classy without being pretentious. I don't see anything on that list that screams one gender over the other.
With the possible exception of a small handful of cars, it seems ridiculous to really peg any car as a "guy" or "chick" car. Given as many women buy cars as men, I'd be willing to bet that most cars - if you looked at the data - would be very balanced. Just because 55% (or whatever) of a gender owns a car, does not make it that gender's car.
I'm not reacting to the fact the said the TSX was a woman's car - I'm reacting to the bad, lazy journalism.
