Angry Longest wait???

I was wondering how long everyone is having to wait to receive a TSX that is ordered from Japan? I ordered a TSX CG/Quartz/MT/Navi 10/17/2003. I was told it was to be built 12/15/2003. As of today no word on a ship date or a delivery date. I sent an e-mail to my sales guy to get on the stick or loose the deal. I put down $1000 which I will not loose. Am I being unreasonable? I have been very patient up to this point and hate the idea of starting this process from scratch. Any comments from sales people would be appreciated.

So, you ordered in October...it was being built on the 15th of December, and it's only the 9th of January and you're complaining?

I would say this is a reasonable amount of time to wait...particularily with the popularity of the TSX (and - from what I've heard - the colour combo you've ordered is particularily popular).

When I ordered my TSX back in May 2003, I was to wait 10 days...and it was only coming from another city (which is only an 8 hour drive away), nevermind having to be built, loaded onto a boat, shipped across the ocean and then clear customs.

So, I would say "Patience is a Virtue"...with this car, it's worth the wait!

Enjoy!

Call other dealers IMO. I got CG/Qu Auto from my dealer in central arkansas in about 7 days. No Navi, that may be the delay. I bet Denver, you live in CO according to your info, who have more than one to compete for your business

First of all, I admire your patience. Anyone who can wait almost 3 months (or more) for a car after putting down a deposit gets my respect.

Second, having to wait 2 months for the car to be built after putting down a deposit seem to be on the long end of the scale. That type of wait is quite possible (especially if your dealer has a looooong list of deposits) but unlikely.

Third, the wait might be justifiable but your salesman's inability to provide you with answers, reasons for the delay, or even keep you informed is inexcusable.

I think your own actions are totally reasonable. I know it's tough to start from scratch but I would take my business elsewhere. Who knows, maybe some other dealership may be expecting the exact same configuration you want. G'luck.

I agree with billyho96, call around and see if another dealer might have one in transit that you and your dealer could do a swap if you really can't wait. I would rather wait as I don't want extra miles on my new TSX, unless the trade is in town and close by. =/ Your call dude.
