Ha...that's nothing.

My mom drove her 1998 TL for 2 years before she realized it had a CD player. I shat you not. The only reason she found out was because we were going over my sister's new 2000 TL with the salesperson. He gestured towards the navi and CD player below it, and she exclaimed, "What, my car doesn't have that!!" Apparently she believed that she had given up her CD player to get the navi. My dad and I both groaned.

that is pretty bad, but having a clock in your car is a given... it may not be so with a cd player.

A lot of mom stories on this thread....

Had my TSX since March and did not know the "remote window down" feature until a few weeks ago. I learned it from the "It's the little things" thread.

I hope one day I look up and notice my TSX has a compass! Oddly enough, there's plenty of space next to the clock for one...

I usually ask the car what time it is because I’m too lazy to look at the clock. My son loves it when I do that.

Well this is my first post, but I have a mother story that dominates all of yours.

I'm 19, live at home, and go to Mercer Community in NJ, I drive a stock 05 Red TSX 5AT.

Anyways, My mother's Deville, was in the shop, so to go to an apointment she had to drive my car. But I'm getting ahead of myself, The day before when I drove her to drop off her car at the shop, on the way home she said "Let me drive, so I can get used to your car." I said "There's really no need, it practically drives itself." but boy was a wrong.

She goes to and fro to her apointment while I was asleep, and when I wake up I see that she's back. I ask her how her drive went and she says fine but "You'r car is really loud". Uh oh. I said "What are you talking about, the TSX is very quiet, did you put it into manual?". She goes "No, I don't know how to drive manual, and I thought it was automatic." I said "It is, but it has a feature to make it manual without a clutch", so she says "Well I put it in M" and I stop here there and say "What do you think M means!?!" Cause at this point I knew what she had done, and if you can't guess either she put the Car in Sport Shift mode and drove in first gear, as she was unaware that she needed to change gears.

So I ask "Didn't you see the RPM's flying off the handel?"

She says "No, Who looks at RPM's anyway".

And in a TSX, HOW CAN YOU MISS IT!?

My question is, was she in 1st gear the entire time, or did it just redline and then switch gears as a safety method?

Oh, and we're not asian.

I dont think the Acura's system upshifts, cuz twice now I've slammed the pedal and forgot I was in manual mode (whooops), but it does downshift automatically. I cant imagine her being able to strictly drive in first gear because, the car would jerk around too much. Your mother wouldn't have been able to really drive the car to smoothly at all. I know the VW/Audi's system upshifts/downshifts though back in my passat days.

Yeah I left out some tid bits in the story, she told me that the ride was very jerky, and then when I confronted her about it later in front of my dad, she took it all back, obviously she didn't want to look like even more of an idiot in front of him.

And what part of Long Island are you from? I lived on Long Island in Farmingdale for 18 Years, we moved year last september, why is a long story, but it smells.

i'm sure the jerkiness had something to do w/ the rev limiter once it redlines.....

on a second note, i didn't know know the center console can be pushed forward and used as an armrest until I read the "it's the little things" thread....
