A little over a year with the 6MT... no regrets.

I had to jump through a few hoops to get my black/black/6mt/nav (ordeal here) but after a year, I have to say I'm glad I stuck with the 6MT.

I could've saved a bit of hassle just gave in a settled for the 5AT since my gf at the time did not know how to drive stick and I wanted her to be able to drive the car if I wasn't around. That was the only reason for getting the 5AT.
But alas, that is no longer a problem because my new gf drives stick, woohoo!

I still baby my car, only redlining once in a blue moon and I still love every moment I'm driving it, since I don't get to drive it much.
I have just about 12k miles on it, whereas my daily beater saw another 20k miles tacked on it in the same time period (yes I drive a lot).

I haven't had much time or $$$ to mod it.
So far just new rims/tires, tint, M3 lip spoiler, Progress RSB, Skunk2 shift knob.
If I had the money, my next mod would definitely be Tein coilovers.

Solution to the problem of not having a g/f that drives stick? Don't let your wife/gf/significant other drive your car!

Glad you love your car. I have had my '04 6MT in PWP for about 40,000km / 2 years, and it's been the best car I've driven. Glad I got it, that's for sure.

I've had my '06 mt non-nav for just over a year (gotta get my anniversary pics up) and have had no regrets as well. Just over 15k miles...

Only problems I've had are the damned passenger windshield wiper issues and the dreaded 'clutch click'.

I had the master cylinder replaced. Curls: Should this "permanently" fix the issue??

I thought the clutch click was just the position switches, but the creek noise was a bad master cylinder per that thread. Am I wrong b/c I have the click on my 04? Of course I have nearly 70k, so I'll probably have to do the work myself.

Granted, I am not 100% sure how a clutch actually works, but this'll give me more to read up on.

When I brought it in for a service...I mentioned that the clutch had been clicking, there may have been a slight 'creak' but I don't recall and major creaking noise. I got a call a few hours later saying that they had ordered some new bushings and could pick it up the next day. When I returned to pick it up they told me they just replaced the whole master cylinder. I was a little shocked because I had read here (https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...t=clutch+click) that the 'click' was fixed by lubing the old bushings and just figured that they were going to replace the bushings instead of just lubing them. But it sounds and works great too

Sorry, no idea if the newest batch of MC's are actual solutions.

And I believe the click was a ridge within the master cylinder causing the piston to 'pop' or 'click' when travelling over it. I originally thought it was the position switch as well but my service advisors and a few other people here, confirmed it likely wasn't because after changing the MC they were fine (ie: the switches were left alone and the noise went away, meaning it wasn't the switches causing the noise)

i think psteng19's solution was finding a new gf.

hah

the wife knows how to drive MT, so it's not an issue in our scenario. i'm glad, because i find AT mind-numbing.

Sweet. Looks like I'll be investigating how difficult it is to swap out a master cylinder. I don't have any leaks that I'm aware of, but none-the-less, it is needing to be replaced.

Sorry, not many pics.
One of my favorite mods, except it's a bit cold to the touch during the winter

Hey psteng, how come your shiftknob doesn't have the skunk2 logo etched into it?

And I agree, it's a great mod, though a little cold when it's 20 degrees out. Good thing I wear gloves when it's that cold.

Then how do you know it's a Skunk2 knob?
Haha, it's on the left side I think... it's a little crooked, didn't use the extra nut.

Almost had my 6MT for about a year and it's a love hate relationship. I still feel the tranny is way overrated on this car. Very hard to shift smoothly out of 1st and into 2nd, notchy when shifting into the second or fifth, almost impossible sometimes to get into 1st unless car is at a dead stop, and now there's a loud noise when car is stopped and I am rolling through the gears (dealer said it's normal but i dont think so). This is my first MT car but I learned on two other cars. My gf been driving MT for years and she also has the same issues with the car.

On the other hand, sometimes the shifts are buttery smooth and very precise. The car is just very moody I guess.

The 1->2 shift is fine once you get used to DBW; double clutch to get into 1st.

can we see some pics of the exterior? I would love to see what wheel/tire options you picked, especially since you haven't lowered it yet. I'm interested.

I have a '06 Black/Black/6MT/Navi that's begging for some new rims and rubber, i just can't afford to drop her at the same time.

I have a couple pre-tint & M3 spoiler but they were bad pics.
I'll try to take a couple this weekend if it's not raining.

Hey I hit my one year in June, and love my 06 MT RBP Tsx. Certainly turns heads. there are some ppl who drive TSXs in my gen area, Silver, Black and Arctic Blue, but mine always turns heads, esp theirs. there's a dude with a TSX Comptech license frame near here. proally posts on this board. (orlando area?)

Next time I'm in for service, I'm asking about normal clutch engage points, mine is engaging pretty far out, i want to make sure i havent burned anything while still under warranty (yes i have plenty of time, but i want to make sure im not fucking it up...this is a very different mt to drive as you all know)....

thoughts

also going to take care of the recall next time im in. (4 weeks or so from now)

BTW I have 14.5k mi in 10 months.
