I had the opportunity to compare my TSX (April '03 build date) to one with a later build date, serial number in the 12xxx range.

I discovered that Acura made at least one subtle change! The light that glows around the ignition switch is GREEN on my TSX, but it's BLUE on the newer one!

It's not a big deal, really, it just goes to show you that Acura is making tiny adjustments here and there to the car, even within the same model year.

What color is yours, and what's your build date? Refer to the m/yy number in the upper right corner of the large sticker on the driver's door frame (not the door).

 

nice catch. i'll check my tsx in the morning. Sometimes when i'm driving at night i wish all the lights came out the factory blue , i like what VW does with their interior lights.

 

Not gonna go check the build date on mine, but it's #10909 and it's blue. Picked up 8/8.

 

The older Hondas for sure were greenish blue (more biased towards green though). My '88 Accord had a bluish/green lighting on the HVAC instrumentation too

 

I have blue light around my ignition and pickup date was 7/25 - #09824

 

I've got blue too.. built 07/03 # 12144

 

My key light is blue, #12495 - I knew there was some talk about a greenish light and I couldn't figure out what it was, there are no greenish lights on the car anywhere now.

 

wow glad mine is blue i would hate to mess up the blue theme by using green, in fact if i was you i would go buy the blue LED part and swap it

build date 6/03 #8363 and I've got the green light.

If I wouldn't have known about the blue light I wouldn't care, but now I want mine to be blue.

 

so far we know #08363(joedokes) still had the green and #09824(me) is blue...any more numbers in this range? i wonder if they started blue with #09000s...lucky me

I have a limited edition green light (#28XX). Too bad all you folks with blue ones missed out on this special (limited) feature. Ha ha ha ha...

I'll get a higher resale for my rattle-mobile now.

 

If I had a green light I would leave it. Odds are there will never be another green light Acura in the build line-up. Think about that if the build runs for 6 years the green will be kinda rare. See blue light specials are just a dime a dozen

You said *all* your lights are blue!? What about the illumination INSIDE the top bin? Also, the illumination for the power window switches and the illumination for all the "words" on things like the stereo and a/c controls are a shade of whitish/green, and I'm sure that didn't change.

Also, what build # (last 5 digits of VIN) are you?

sorry, the drivers side window control and inside of the cd case holder are green.

wat i meant was the light outside the cd case holder, light coming down from the vanity lights, and ignition ring are blue

 

I checked mine last night and its green I got mine last week of June. Maybe I'm weird but I prefer it this color.

There is illumination INSIDE the top bin? I haven't seen that yet, I don't think i've opened the top bin at night. I've only had the car for a week Oh boy! more reasons to go for a drive!

 

I'm #6400 and picked up in late June too; I also have green. MrChad makes a great point, but I seriously don't believe it will be a factor in assessing "rarity". MrChad and I are currently discussing his idea of turning his orange light console to the new MDX/CL looking console.

I personally will want to make all my green lights blue anyway. Hopefully I can find the way to do it without having to order an OEM solution that costs major bucks.

 

I got mine on July 31 and it's green. I want blue

 

I love the way the blue and the yellow looks on the TSX..

But after an 87 Accord DX, 92 Prelude Si, 97 Acura CL, i miss that blue/green its just something i've come to expect from honda. but dont get me wrong... i love the lighting in the tSX.

post a pic of what? The ring around the keyhole? It's identical to the green one, except it's blue... like the LED that shines down from the overhead console.

I don't know if it's blue colored plastic or blue from a LED.
