License Plate LED DIY
I couldn't find any real guides with pictures when I was looking for the license plate LED replacement. So I hope this helps those that still want to change those lights.
Required Equipment
1. Phillips head Screw Driver
2. 15 mins
Step 1.
Remove the 3 that line the top of the trunk shown in picture 1.
Step 2.
Then that rectangular rubber piece that is circled in picture 1 has 3 rubber/ plastic tabs. You will need to lift the left most tab and shift the last 2 to the left and the piece will slide out. In picture 2 you will see how it looks after that rubber piece is removed. Do the same to the other side and the lining will come right off.
Step 3.
Now stick your head in and you will see the 2 lights and what holds them in. Squeeze the 2 sides circled in picture 3 and they will slide right out(replace oem light with led). Repeat for the other side and your done.
I will try to get a picture of how it looks before you pull it out.
The following are the before and after pictures. No night time pics as I just put them in today during my lunch break.
Before
After
Difference
Note: I know my license plate screws are different but don't take any points away because of it, new license plate frame is coming.

which bulbs did you use and did the fit properly. I have the 9 leds from tec-toyz and they are real tight.
also I didn't have to take off the rubber gromments I just moved the interior fabric around them

You didnt need to take off the rubber. Just yank around the rubber, and it slides right off.

I used the 1 high powered led. Its as small as the oem wedge bulb and its not tight at all.

High powered led
Compare the size of that to ur 9 led bulb. Do you have any pictures of your license plate light at night so i can compare to mine?

Ebay LEDs
I bought mine through tec_toyz on Ebay for about $16 delivered. I have the Wide Angle Hi-Power 1 WATT LED bulbs and they look great. Had them on for about 2 days (nights) and have received raving comments from jealous onlookers ! Warning, the right light was a B*&$% to change.

hmm. I may have to switch to the 1 wat led, the 9 led bulbs that I got from him fit the socket but they are long and a tight fit and don't really shine the light down.

i dont kno if it just my car but i went through 3 sets of led on my license plate. its always the right side that always fu*k up. 1 set was the high flux LED, which is the new led's. its a little brighter. but this time it only last for bout 2 weeks and it started flickering. didnt slam the trunk at all. just closeed it by pushing down on the trunk. my last 2 led last me bout 1-3months i think and it started flickering. i think other ppl had the same problem. anyways i'm sticking with regular bulb.

the lights would be:
A. The lights in the door
B. The map lights (front of the car)
C. The dome light (back seat)
You could also pick up bulbs for your trunk and license plate.

I bought and installed the same LED bulbs and I gotta say I'm impressed. They're much much brighter than the LED bulbs that I replaced.

Nice replacement, just made me want to pick up a pair of those wedge bulbs from Fizz on the Northern Blvd or check it out in Mitsuwa. You bought your car at Paragon? I didn't like their salesman there.....

You can get to those bulbs from the rear of the car (ie with the boot closed). You just pull down the trim near the boot release and then slide the globe covers off. Takes less than 1 minute.
