Good luck with the driving experience....lexus and toyota in general aren't drivers cars. And Lexus agrees that the typical person that drives the car will get into trouble....you can't completely turn off VDIM!! Good luck taking any advantage of RWD with that nanny watching over you.

Okay, so I don't remember where I read this, but it was a pretty reputable source: the Mark Levinson audio system will be a $4,000 option. I don't *think* that includes the navi system.

If you think about it, for Levinson to put their name on a factory system, it's not going to be cheap. Their home audio components cost anywhere from, what, about $8,000 to $50,000. They certainly wouldn't offer a "mere" $1,000 car audio system.

The new IS looks really great to me, but I wound up buying a TSX. The IS will just be too pricey for me with anything but the base features, and the 350 won't have a manual transmission! Sheesh.

Which "God" are you refering to?
How do you know what is his intention?
Are you the Pope?
Oh, and if you are, can you ask him why he dislike New Orleans?

People making this type of statement using his name to serve their own private agenda irk me big time.

Are we talking about IS250 or IS350??? From everything that I've read so far, VDIM is a standard feature in IS350. I don't think it is availabe in IS250 at all. See the link to the specifications I posted earlier.

That's the house I have seen with the 2 TSX's as well. I am around the corner from Village Gate Parkway off Calvert Road. There is another silver one on my crescent as well as one across from the school on Calvert.

Haha, so we can have a TSX meet for Cachet South and ask them to join us too. I am in good mood since they are not going to upgrade the hydro line that beside my house!

the only thing i like about the IS is the RWD. the interior is very similar to me. that's all. TSX looks much much better than the IS IMO.

Might want to re-check your source.

The ES Nav+ML is 3100 just 900 over Nav alone
The ML on the GS is 1250
The GX has Nav/audio for 3050 including rearview camera
The LS has the Modern Lux package for 4980 with a lower $1390 package plus Nav, ML, Bluetooth and rear view cam
The RX has the ML/Nav at 6790 which includes a 2960 lower package, nav, ML, rearview and Bluetooth.

Bottom line the ML systems run from under 1k to under 2k so ML does supply their name for even less than 1k already! Indeed if the ML package is 4K then it most certainly includes Nav but everything I have seen indicates it will be roughly 1k, only available with nav, very few will come outside special order.

I have a TSX and I will simply say that I have driven every type of car Acura currently produces, except an NSX, as loaners during my cars numerous visits back to the dealer for many unacceptable problems. Some cars twice and even some old models, too. I don't have Navigation in my TSX but I have completely learned how to use it in several loaners. 43K miles.

My wife has had two Lexus RX's. One problem, total. One loaner, for the day. 80K combined miles.

The IS may not be built as well as a RX, but I can't even imagine that any domestic is built any worse than my TSX.........................at least none that I have ever owned, and some of those were pretty bad.

One of these cars is one of the least reliable cars I've heard of in recent years. I won't say which one, but I will say it's the one with a floating center column

Don't believe me? Visit www.swedespeed.com and check out the forums. I was seriously considering a V50 T5 until I started reading about the horrific reliability problems.

Their home systems are pretty nice. Haven't been in a Lexus with the ML system. I hope it's nice too.

That is encouraging that ML audio may not be a $4K option. I'll have to try to figure out where I saw that.

IS is a nice looking car. Lexus has a great rep. Lexus builds great quality cars.

also

You'll be driving the same model for 10 years with no update (the IS). You'll be paying for every single option on the car.

RWD is not 'GOD' as some of you put it. RWD in 1-2 feet of snow = not going anywhere. AWD on the otherhand is a different story.

Hey, looks like talking about religion or politics will get you into trouble, even on a car forum. but this is still America, say whatever you what and no need for apologies.

I'd consider the IS because of the Lexus brand, but if the rear seats are too tiny or the price too high, then forget about it. There are plenty of choices out there.

I agree RWD is not 'GOD' but I dun agree RWD in 1-2 feet of snow = not going. There are something call "Winter Tire". I drive my RWD all year in Toronto without a problem. It is just as good as my TSX.

I think the IS looks like an accord front + Mazda back, with illegal copy of TSX interior, don't you? Man... be innovative!

Do you guys turn off your TSX's VSA often? Why bitch about IS not able to turn that off?
I thought safety is important for most of us??

IS vs TSX, all comes down to whoever rattles less?

My C36 was horrible in the winter (Had Artic Aplin's). Try changing lanes while adding gas in snow, it's not exactly the safest thing around. Then again, my C36 didn't have traction control. I do miss swinging the rear end out but if your turning in a rwd in the snow, it requires alot more skill and attention to drive of which I don't think many people in Toronto have.

I appreciate it, TMQ. And no, I don't feel like there is a need for me to apologize.

Really, the point I tried to make is, religion does not play a role in buying a new car. If one wants to use religion to justify for the purchasing, so be it; I just feel it is silly.

just piggy back on last one... my last car was CL-S... if i were to get a classification of cars. i wont drool at the ones that are higher class than mine. but i would get the HIghest possible in that class. like CL-S instead of CL. the car before that was 3.0 CL instead of 2.2 CL.......... most of memeber here talk about mod... just save the money. get 350.. get it into ur monthly payment... probably save more money than spend on MOD later

I really think tsx is better car than is250.... rear sway bar + a-spec suspension and couple of engine mod will make tsx very agressive and nice handling car... i would rather get 350z... if i was going for more speed... but tsx and is250 are compromised between luxury and speed...

Going from a TSX to a 250 is just too much of a lateral move. It's not really worth it. I want my next car to be an upgrade, not just a different model.
