Lexan fog light replacement on 06 TSX
Has anybody successfully done the Lexan replacement, for the 2006 TSX fog lights? These are the ones that are built into the bumper, unlike the 04-05. I guess the biggest difference based on my reading is that the 04-05 fog lights are flat, while the 06 ones are curved. Meaning that to replace the glass with Lexan, the Lexan must have a curve matching the fog light housing.
I've already removed my foglights, since the driver side which before just had a few big cracks, was now thoroughly smashed through, and the reflector was beginning to get messed up. I'm still going to try buying some Lexan and doing the swap, by heading up the Lexan and trying to mold it to fit the shape of the housing, but was wondering if anybody else had made any attempts

The 04-05 are also curved but ever so slightly. If you take a few pictures we can try compare to my pictures.
I recall only the housing is different but i could be wrong.
I did the lexan replace on mine works great.

Here's a picture of the drivers side housing from the top, with the glass already removed:

And the still in tact passengers side housing

Front (not really necessary): http://www.supz.org/TSXFogLights/DSC_5228.jpg
So the curve isn't huge, but it's definitely not something that a thicker piece of Lexan will just curve with by applying some glue under it. I think I'll have to cut out the piece, and then put it in the oven for a while to heat it up then try to bend it to shape and somehow clamp it against the fog light housing, and let it cool. Hopefully it'll work

ah this is a picture of my fog
from lexan mod forum
http://forums. club rsx.com/showthread.php?t=348644
i dont know it looks like the bend is slight more, but on mine it fit into the crevis of the fog housing.
Can you tell me if the lens is flushed against the outside rim?
or is it bulging out and sticks out from the inside of the fog housing.
My fog was like if i broke open it the lens is flushed against the fog but the lens sits in this indentation that i can't tell from your picture. If it does you just need rtv sealant and it cover up the openings. I sanded mine down so it fit flushed in.

The lens sticks out from inside the fog light housing. The glass itself had a little ridge that stuck out to align itself in a pit that goes along the outside edge of the fog light housing.
I'm going to try to make it to home depot today to pick up some Lexan and a saw blade for cutting plastic

i've got lexan lenses on my 06. i used clear silicone adhesive and filled the depression that the ridge on the glass lense sits in. then i put the lexan lense on the housing and took some electrical tape and wrapped the whole thing up nice and tight. i let it sit like that for a day or two to be sure the silicone dried all the way. when i took the tape off i filled the inside of the housing with water to check for leaks. there wasnt any and the leses felt very secure on the housing. they have been doing fine for several months and many miles.

Good to know i was looking into making lexan replacements for fellow tsx memebers.
If you guys know a easy and affordable tool to cut them ill be able produce them at a decent rate for everyone.
I had a high powered drill and was looking either use a head or a dremel attachment.
Great to hear that it also works!

A minor update... today I finally got some time to cut up the Lexan using my dremel and the mini saw attachment (http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-670-Min.../dp/B00008Z9ZP), to do the major cutting work and then the little brownish colored disks for doing the fine work.
For the template, I used the glass from my foglight that wasn't yet smashed... I popped the housing + lens in the oven for a few minutes at 250 F, and then was able to pry it off by applying slow but firm pressure in the little notch at the top of the housing. It looks like it was put there specifically for wedging it out. Anyway, after slowwwwwwwly wedging it from there, I got a little gap going, and put another screw driver in the widening gap, and just worked my way around until it came off totally... no cracking or chipping or anything -- worked pretty well.
Anyway, traced the glass lens onto the Lexan and then cut it out. After that, I sanded down the edges to make them fit the shape of the housing better, and then I used the technique mentioned above, with wrapping the housing in tape. In my case I used duct tape, and made sure to pay a lot of attention to the sides, where the lexan was being bent the most. I put a couple layers of duct tape around those areas, and it's now drying. One thing to note is that the tape may start to slip after a while. I let it sit for about an hour, came back and notice that one side had begun to lift, so I re-taped it with a generous portion of that handy silver tape, and I'm hoping it will be fine in the morning. I'll evaluate it some more then, and see if I need to let it sit longer or what.
I'll let you guys know how it goes from here. My HID's from DDM tuning came, and I've been playing around with them and one of those 12v car battery pumps/jump starter... these things are freaking bright. Cannot wait to install them as my replacement foglights

supz, I'm curious, how do you get those out on an 06? I know how to get up under the front to change the bulb. I guess my question is, to get the fogs out, do you simply pop off the plastic cover from the front and unbolt or go from up and under?

Like Worth said, you have to remove the bumper. This of course isn't the most trivial thing... I had my buddy who is an Acura Tech come over and help me with the part where you have to "peel" the bumper from the car, which requires some pretty hard pulling, that starts to get scary. Make sure you don't pull too hard, or else you might break the clips, firm and smooth pressure is good, abrupt and sudden is bad.
Initially, I just followed the instructions in the following PDF on removing the bumper:
