launch control?

i drive a 2005 tsx 6spd. so i was sitting in my car the other day waiting for it to warm up in this cold seattle morning weather when i was messing around and hit the gas pedal to rev it up. i revved it up as high as it would go...4500 and it was governed. i've read about launch control and it only letting you rev so high so you can get a good launch...well, to keep it short, do i have launch control?

No. 4500rpm is set by Honda engineers so people don't f'up the engine.

i know on the automatic in SS mode you can hold the brake with the left foot and gas up to 2100 rpm for a better launch i wouldnt consider it launch control though..

^^^ That's a great way to blow out your tranny. Do you realize how much pressure you're creating by cranking the torque convert that hard while not giving the fluid anywhere to go?

its not something i was recommending just saying its possible if someone in an auto wanted to get a decent off the line start.. not sure about the fluid part either.. since our trannies in SS mode act more like a clutch then a regular auto (not a mechanic in that area)

Ooops, I guess I was wrong in the other thread about wasting gas using your fog lights. Now this seems like a great thread to close.
