Just tinted my TSeX, how long till my first ticket?

I finally got off my lazy @$$ and tinted my car yesterday. I threw 5% on the rear window and the visor strip and 20% on the sides. Once I was done I thought, oh $hoot it's dark. The legal limit here in WA is 35% all around.

Anyone wanna guess how long it will take till I get stopped or ticketed for my tints?

looks awesome. i love seeing dark tints on a silver car.

i had 20% on my last car, and i got a ticket for it in about 6 months. i dunno about seattle, but around here, cops don't bother pulling over sedans too much. for example, if sedans have 35% tint (tinting front windows are illegal here), they'll almost never get ticketed for that... if sports cars/coupes have any sort of tints, they'll get pulled over... guaranteed. so, if it's anything like here, you might be able to get away with it... especially if you remember to roll your windows down when you spot a cop. it also helps to have your sunroof/shade open to let more light in.

Yes just use the Roll Down the Windows Technique... I have 15% llumar Charcoal Tint on my sides and back... Had for about 6 months and no ticket so far... The only cases I heard of people getting tickets for tint if they were pulled over for another violation (i.e. Speeding) and then would tack on the illegal tint on the ticket... Just be cautious...

Alpinestar---I'm from FL (Sarasota/Tampa) and that's where I started tinting windows. FL is so lack when it comes to window tint tickets. You can paint your windows black down there and not get pulled over ever.

Up here is different. I moved here last Nov and have been pulled over more times in the past 6 mo. than I have been pulled over in the last 10 years in FL. So I am pretty sure I will get pulled over and questioned for it. My plan is to turn the lights on inside, open the sunroof, and roll down the rest of the windows if I am getting pulled over.

I didn't think it would be as dark as it is. I thought it would be a tad bit lighter. Oh well...worse case I have to pull it off and re-do it. Just time and material.

May the force and luck be with you. I had the same combination on my first car (a truck) when I was younger, and managed not to get pulled over for at least 3 years. Course I chalk that up to just pure dumb luck, a lot of quick rolling down when I spotted a cop, etc.

Course the cop that got me was just finishing up a ticket for somone else on the side of the freeway and just happened to spot me going by at 55 mph (of course) and busted me for the tint.

Your car looks sweet I hope you get to enjoy the tint for a good long run.

I thought the limit in WA is 35% front and whatever you want for the rest of the windows.

Btw, I have 20% all around on my TSX and Civic, including the roof glass. My wife drives the black lowered Civic everyday to work, which is right next to the highway patrol station. She encountered many patrol cars at the stoplight without any problems.

Looks sweet!! I also have a SSM and plan on getting mine done soon. I think the FL cops are looking more at the tourist than the locals Good luck up there

From what I have read... On passenger cars 35% all around. On trucks and SUV's it's 35% on the drivers and passenger windows and as dark as you want on the rest. Here is 1 site I found.

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/WA/

This site doesn't explain the SUV/Truck part, but most states use the same rules. They have to since almost all SUVs come with stock 20% smoked glass on the rear.

Looks good but I could never understand why someone would want tints that dark. You drive a nice car. Too bad noone will be able to see who exactly is driving that nice car.

Florida by far doesnt care, Im from Ft.Lauderdale, and Ive always gotten 20% and I know tons of kids up here in Tallahassee with like 5% limo tint all around and they dont care, all they care about in college towns is drunk driving and drugs hah.

Tint, what tint? let's see more pics of the white and checkered panel van-whoo hoo! j/k

That tint is so dark, it's awesome-just awesome, and look the moonroof is wide open too, that's awesome. I'd back my car into a tree at night with tint like that way before getting a ticket

I live in PA and not too many cops pull you over for tints. Normally they will give u a warning after some other violation.

Looks good! I have 15% on the back and 20 on the sides. Its annoying at night with the auto-dim mirror. Keep having to turn it to off. Autodim + 15% = Darkness. Price u pay to look good.

That's my Hot Dog/Espresso Truck! And it's For Sale if you know anyone interested in slinging coffee beans from a hot dog truck!

drunkenbudda--why do you think I tinted them so dark?

They aren't as dark as it looks in the pic.
