Just picked up my TSX, but burning smell and smokey
I just picked up my new 2006 TSX, and by the time I got home from the dealership, about 5 miles, there was very strong burning smell (kinda like rubber burning). I did search the forums, and there were mentions of burning smell on new TSX, but mine also had smoke coming out from under the hood... not like crazy smoke, but enough smoke to see through the headlights.... has anyone experienced the smoke before? Anything to worry about? I did drive more just to see if it will stop, and the smoke has subsided a lot, but the smell is still there.....
Thanks.
Thanks.

as far as the smoke goes, maybe its the anti rust coating on the exhaust, or they could have spilt a small amount of oil somewhere in your engine bay.
i wouldnt worry about it, just keep an eye on it for the next coupld hundred miles.
if it starts smoking out of control, take it in.
btw, mine did the same thing when it was new

Ok. Thanks for the replies! Phewww.... makes me feel alot better. The smoke is mostly gone I think, so that's a good thing I guess. By the way, this is my first ever manual, and its killing me everytime it jerks cause I feel like i'm hurting it.... I think it will be couple weeks for my left leg to be not numb after everytime I get out of the car, for me to sit a little bit back from the old asian lady driving position (referring to my mom), and to finally be able to reach over and feel all those pretty buttons around the Navigation....

There's lots of burn-in smell, especially if you have a garage.
I smelled it too, for at least the first 300 miles, when I got home and pulled in (then sat in the car for awhile admiring the interior... then got out and lingered to admire the exterior)... and it started making me nervous, too.
But then it went away.
Seriously, it's strong for awhile but then it goes away. Don't worry about it.

I just ordered an '06 TSX and when I questioned the salesman about purchasing an undercoating / rustproofing and he said that the new vehicles come with a very good undercoat protection and that there was no need to purchase it. He also mentioned that I would "smell it" as some of the residual burned off. I would guess that's what you're smelling.

You'll get the hang of the manual soon enough. Just keep practicing. After a while it becomes second nature and you don't even think about it. Your left leg gets used to it too once you find a comfortable position for it.
