Just got my 2005 TSX!
I picked up my 2005 TSX Arctic Blue Pearl, AT, Navi, two days ago and I've been having a blast driving it. The break in period is going to kill me, this car begs to be really driven, but I want to be nice to her while she's young.
I have a few questions though...
1. The dealership is trying to sell me an extended warranty, it extends the factory warranty to 7 years 100,000 miles. They also have a wheel warranty program so if I scratch the wheels, they're covered up to $250 in repairs. Is there any reason I should do this? It's going to cost me about $1500 extra.
2. When can I wax the car? It is a 2005, so it has been sitting on the lot for a few months. Should I wait longer? I live in Chicago, so I'm not sure if there will even be any benefit to waxing right now.
3. The manual says to break in the car 600 miles. Is that adequate? Should it be longer?
Thanks for your help everyone! I'm looking foreword to many more happy years with my TSX, I'm already in love.
Edit: Expect pictures soon, although she's a little dirty already.

1. only if you plan on keeping for over 7 yrs/100,000 miles. get off ebay since it's cheaper.
2. get optimum spray on wax. spray 'n wipe, i love that thing. my car is garaged so i can just do this, done.
3. i waited to 1,000 miles.
** extra credit: get the CT rear sway bar from $$ saved on answer 1.

One more question...
I was offered a "clear bra" for $720. Should I go for that too? I'm not sure how good it is, or if I want to pay that much for it if it's not going to work well. I saw it on a NBP TL at the dealership, it seems a little too visible for me...any suggestions?

2. The paint has had time to cure. I'd wash it, claybar it, and then put on a protective coat of wax (carnuba or polymer). Check our Off Topic / Wash & Wax section for recommended products and application methods.
3. 600mi. is adequate to brake-in. Search for ClutchPerformer's thread on engine break-in. I used that procedure and I'm liking the results (no oil burning w/Mobil1 and averaging better than 27mpg over the last 3 tankfulls).
Congrats and happy driving.

congratz man!!
Honda/Acura are pretty reliable car, i don't think that $1500 is worth it. It's all business tricks man, they might make it seem like it's a good deal, but for the long run, it ain't. If it's such a deal, they won't be making so much money!!
IMO, don't get the warrenty. If you drive normally, nothing will happen to your TSX. EVen if you get the warrenty, they might not cover EVERYTHING, watch out for the loop holes man!

I agree that the 600 mile/1000 km break in period should be enough.
$700 for the clear bra sounds expensive. I got mine as part of a package so I can't qoute a price, but I got the bra, rust proofing, leather and paint protection for just a little more.
