July 30th Install Meet MD/VA/DC

Well I am coming down to do the headlight install with Reach to see if the 06 headlights will fit an 04/05 tsx. I am also going to install my j's racing radiator hoses from tsx.fury. possibly install some j's racing tow hooks too if they arrive and maybe even my header and cat if I dont install them before hand.

There is no location at this point chosen for this so I think we need to find one. We will need shade as it has been extremely hot out as of lately. I would suggest my parents house however I doubt everyone wants to drive to PA.

damnit this is one weekend I can make it. the following weekend I will be in NC and the next two I will be at a show. I believe tsx.fury said he can make it though.

reach did you order your cat yet. I would have two garage spaces to use to work on cars in pa but that would be a long drive for you.

My header and cat have already arrived but I am in NC right now. I might be installing them when I get home this saturday cause I am impatient. I will still have to install my hoses though.

CCC, I'm going to hold off on ordering the cat for now. I'm getting ready to order a few other performance parts and would like to do the header/cat at the same time like you're doing. Since that's like $600-$800 in parts alone (depending on the header) I'm going to have to snag a few more paychecks first. I also just wrote my first full mortgage check. Ouch.

As it stands, it looks like attendees are:

1) Reach
2) CCC
3) EurTSX
4) TSX.Fury

I'll coordinate this now and find a place to meet up, its going to be in Fairfax, VA. However, as this point CCC, I'm not sure anyone will have the best tools or expertise to assist in the cat/header install at this time. I do have a set of hand tools and would certainly help you do it, but I do not have jackstands.

fury what all is need to to the radiator hose install since we will probably do that at this meet. I will probably give in when I get home and install my header and cat on the weekend since I can do it in my garage with a fan and my huge racing jack. I will bring my large tool box full of tools to the meet though.

CG, he ended up selling it to someone off the board I believe... he never got back to me.

CCC, that would probably be best if you wanted to do those mods ahead of time. I imagine with Fury there we can get your hoses on, make sure you buy all that fluid you're gonna need!

I will be there. I'll also bring a jack and jack stands and if I haven't gotten around to putting that damn header in yet (well actually it's my stock header that's presenting the difficulty) I'll bring that in too, as well as some more hand tools and Helm's manuals (service and electrical).

Edit: I can bring a drain pan for CCC's radiator fluid too.

Yeah if you have a drain pan I would appreciate that. I need to get to acura next week and pick up some new honda radiator fluid.

I figured you would have ordered some JDM radiator fluid months ago

Where do we want to do this? How about Vienna metro? SS metro worked well last time but I think there are more VA people than MD people...

I would really prefer a MD location being that it is already a 2 hour drive for my house unless someone has a longer drive than that then we can move it south but moving it a little north would be awesome too.

You're going 2 hours, what's another 20 minutes? I'm going to agree with the Vienna metro station, as all the locals are now located around there. North side garage anyone? It'll be a first for using it as a location, but it shouldn't be a problem.

If you take 15 to Leesburg and come in from the west I think it won't even take you longer to get to fairfax than it would have to get to silver spring.

Yuck, this makes me nervous about getting the cat.

Anyway, back to the meet:

MEET LOCATION:
Vienna Metro parking garage, south side. Meet up at 12 noon .
Google Map Link
(Saintsbury Dr & Vaden Dr, Fairfax, VA)

Drive to the roof of the garage and park along the back wall, and lets hope the metro cops don't care like usual. If there is an issue, I have an idea for a backup site at a local shopping complex.

If you're coming, please PM me to get my cell phone # in case you need it.

I was ready to commit to driving in, as I was free the entire weekend...until my 94 year old grandfather fell tonight and changed that...so, I'm out.

Why do all these meets have to be in DC area

Start address: La Crosse, VA 23950
End address: Saintsbury Dr & Vaden Dr
Fairfax, VA 22031
Distance: 188 mi (about 3 hours 58 mins)

Because there are a good dozen or so DC-area tsx.az'ers who regularly organize them. Which is probably because there are more TSXs in DC than people in La Crosse (or even probably south hill)

According to google maps it is only 10 minutes longer to get there than Wheaton or Glenmont stations. But I think 2:30 is an overestimate especially because on 15 south of Harrisburg you can safely go 75-80. It should be more like 2 hours even.

It's only 188 miles. At and average speed of 90mph, that's only 2 hours. You should come up and join us.

the man has a point, especially given that almost the entire distance is on I-85 and I-95 (fun fact: those roads were actually named after the average speed cars go on them!)

That IS a good idea for a future event...

YES, we are still on for this weekend. Fedex did deliver the merchandise, thankfully unmolested.

I looked into the JDM lights, it looks like you can take off the metal backing of the hid without opening it. I'm going to try it on my stock usdm ones once we pull the bumper off (This is what I'm hoping I can get big help with, I've never taken a bumper off before) and if so, I'll swap the shields from the usdm ones into the jdm ones.

But others have said it can't be done. Don't know till you try I suppose. Also, someone show me how I can get the serial # off my ECU while we're there....

See you Sunday.

Too bad I won't be there. But the ECU is really easy to get to. Make sure you have a Phillips head screw driver and a 10mm socket. It's a piece of cake from there.

I already have plans for this weekend but also the fact that its on a sunday too is tough. That'd be some serious driving for one day to get back in time for work the next day. maybe i'll be able to make one sometime. Where I live, there are no modded tsx's for MILES VIR would be a little easier to do though

what is VIR and does it have a site. I really want to track my car since I have put all this money into performance parts and still have my volks that are pretty light. I will take out my strunk setup and rear seats and definitly go to the track if we put a meet together but it has to be before the end of august and can't be august 19th. however the 20th would be great.
