I have been thinking of creating a company that would help people do this however you would have to advertise in japan and the US however I think if it was done right you could make some good money on it.

I don't understand the appeal of making an Acura TSX into a Honda Accord.

It's about going back to your roots. If I had a TSX and everyone else had a TSX, I'd want to make mine a JDM Accord. I'm so happy that my car is similar ot the JDM Accord 24T (except that I got the 190hp engine instead of the 200hp). 2004 model:

i've never visited japan but i suspected this from the start. it's basic human psychology. we all want to differentiate ourselves from the rest to feel special. that's why i cant help but snicker when all these kids jizz in their pants at the mention of "JDM" thinking its better somehow. its not better, its just different.

For the most part, but that too general of an assumption.

I love my TSX as OEM and as for the JDM headlights, Its not because its JDM or different, I just hate the amber corners on a CGP exterior. I could careless if everyone else had clear corners.

Oyaio Gosaimasu!

BTW, cybereclipse, did you get the opportunity to visit Suzuka Circuit? or Fuji Speedway?

Honda owns majority of the track! crazy huh! and their pace car is a yellow NSX!

I lived in Japan for 6 years and the Japanese are crazy over anything American. I've seen Japanese bikers on Harleys and I've seen them dress up country and do line dancing. Once I saw a T-Shirt in English but it didn't make any sense. But it was English Funny how things are

We've had a few members (TL TOURER and a couple others) from Japan chiming in on this board a couple of yrs back. Some of them did the Acura badge thing too. They had some pretty nice looking cars. Wonder if they still browse this board. I think TL TOURER actually did a '06 front conversion on his wagon, I want to find out how he got that mounted since i like the '06 EuroR front...

Well I wouldn't say it is "downgrading" the car because it is still a TSX--it still has the fancy instrument cluster, extra electronics, etc... Sure, it loses the prestige associated with the high-end "Acura" name, but people are entitled to do what they want.

I can see how some people want something that is uniquely theirs, and that's cool. Since genuine JDM Accords are completely absent in the US (aside from maybe a few "grey market" cars, if those even exist anymore), converting your TSX to look like a foreign-market Accord certainly makes it unique.

it's a hobby, and just like any hobby, it's stupid to some people and awesome to some people. i personally wouldn't do it, and you love to do it and go to shows with your car (i think). it's your hobby. i don't hate on you (well sometimes it's fun to poke fun in the forums). i just don't get why people don't comprehend that it's a hobby to some people.

some people like to buy japanese cars and trick them out, and they enjooy doing it. some people like to collect coins. some people like to work on classic cars and antiques. there are tons of hobbies. why don't people understand that?

no you didnt. you tried to say that somehow jdm is intrinsically better than stuff here. all you had to say was that you liked the look of jdm stuff and no one would have an argument against you.

Nothing wrong with rebadging from Acura to Honda, I mean our windows say Honda on them, not Acura. But, I'd rather just remove "Acura" and "TSX" and at leave the Acura symbol on the car than rebadging it into an "H" Accord.

Everyones so unhappy and insecure with their cars, thats why the aftermarket industry makes a living off of us. Whatever, eventually well grow out of this phase and then look at the young people with rims, tints and that get-no-sleep exhaust.
