One thing I have searched around for and not found an answer to about JDM conversions involves the 05+ models.

They were nice enough to change all window etchings from Honda to Acura.

With the exception of either:
A. Replacing all windows with older model TSX windows or
B. Getting 6 stickers for the windows(i.e. Alarm Sticker, etc.)

Has anyone who has converted come up with another way around this? Is it possible to remove the "Acura" without damaging the glass?

Looking forward to hearing others take on this matter...

The force is strong with you. Unless you want to spend that kind of money to replaced all the windows with the 04-05 models. Just go get some JDM stickers to cover all those Acura in the windows. Here's some to get you started

I do not understand why people would spend thousands of dollars to make a perfectly nice Acura TSX into a JDM Accord. I've seen a couple of these conversions around town and in my eyes the car looks no better. Do these badges make the car go faster or corner better? Unless the car has right hand drive I know that its a rebadged Acura. I'm not slamming you JDM freaks, I'm just saying these mods make no sense to me. I love my 06 TSX, but I'm not adding any mods unless they improve the performance.

when i first came to this board i was surprised to see so many people wanting this 'jdm' look, and this is a perfect example of such a post. i cant remember a time i looked at my windows and noticed if they said honda or acura, nor would i care. but it seems like some people take their ideas a little too far sometimes

we pay for an Acura...why downgrade to a Honda?

 

why is it down grading cause I didnt remove any features from the car in converting the badges.

 

Acura is a Honda. TSX is European / Japanese Honda Accord.
TSX has the same interior as Honda Inspire sold in Japan.

 

It's all desire to be part of a unique group in this large Country of ours.

everyone knows that, the honda/acura toyota/lexus etc etc is for the most part general knowledge between anyone who would even notice the car.
i dont see it as downgrading by any means, i just dont really understand the whole thing, but i guess if maybe i did than i would like the jdm conversion, cant say that your car sucks or anything because i really like it and how clean it is, just wouldnt do it to mine, but thats a good thing

 

i'm all in for jdm conversions and all...but i donnno about this whole window thing. thats a lil too much if you want to change all your windows. stickers is definitly the route you should take. save the rest of that money for better things...

 

Is this for real? If you are serious about JDM conversion you should also convert your car to right hand drive...

 

Its not about being serious or what not, its about having a certain look. If I were to go about doing this, I wouldn't want it to be half-assed, and especially with my windows being tinted, anyone who looks at the windows while they were checking out the car, the first thing you see is BAM "ACURA" in bright white/orange letters (depending on which window).

The problem is, on the flip side with the stickers, most people probably wouldn't want these big, nasty looking stickers on each window either. Takes away from being sleek, you know?

Although I think it is okay to do these JDM conversions, you guys are so pragmatic.

 

I love me some JDM parts, but for some reason I still don't want that H on my car. It keeps me from going all the way.

I guess all I can do now is get a mugen grille!

 

Well it's the same way around how people in Japan get our Acura parts and our amber sidemarkers and Acura emblems. Nothing more than a hobbie, doesn't really mean they should convert to RHD either.

 

I went H cause I love the grill but I'm leaving the windows the way it is. Too much trouble for something so small

What do the window etchings have to do with the "look" of the car. I am all for JDM gear that changes the appearance of the car - eg the Euro R body kit.

I don't quite see the point of changing the windows to remove the Acura label. It appears to be some odd attempt to make the car something it isn't.

 

It is because they are JDM enthusiast and love everything JDM.. They just want to make their car into its JDM counterpart.

 

Sorry but everything in you car is honda, maybe you should have bought a bimmer.

 

That's probly what the car saleman's made you believe and squeezed a couple thousand extra out of you because he told you that you are paying for an Acura when in reality you bought a Honda
