iPod Intgration

iPod Intgration
Many of you may remember the advertising from Acura bragging about the unprecedented ipod integration for the 2006 TSX. For me that was the deciding factor on buying the car over a Lexus.
Well it turns out after all the hype they pulled the product and said they can't do it after all. Excuse me? I just bought a $30 car based on your advertised features and NOW you tell me "ooops"?
Many will say that with or without the ipod feature it's still a great car and they're absolutely right. The question however isn't whether or not it's still a great car but whether the manufacture has lived up to the claims of their advertising. i feel cheated, if i had known my iPod wouldn't work as advertised I'd have bought a car with better integration because in my mind Acura, Lexus, infinity, and BMW all make great cars, but I wanted one with iPod integration for the safety and convenience that feature provides.
I guess what makes it realllllly frustrating is that I know that they can fix it, there's very little that can't be resolved with sufficient technical or financial commitment. but instead Acura made a calculated choice that screwing us would cost them less than actually providing what they promised. That hurts.
My complaints to Acura were ignores, but the State of California is listening. Acura si about to get a surprise, and we'll all benefit as consumers.

If you live in CA, and have a 2006 TSX, please add your voice at http://www.dca.ca.gov/. I'm also hoping to get a class action suit going (not as easy as it sounds).
It's sad, but it's all numbers. They look at the cost of fixing it vs. the cost of not fixing it so we have to make it MORE expensive (and more embarrassing) for them not to fix it. They count on consumer apathy... don't let them get away with it.
All it will take is one kid to get run over by a driver playing with his ipod because those steering wheel controls weren't there as advertised.

Ahh, here we go again. The anal iPod/MusicLink guy. Take your extreme views elsewhere because clearly, people ripped you a new one in your other thread. You expect anything different in this thread?
And your quote about someone getting run over because of a distraction with an iPod is obsurd. If the person were smart, they'd figure out when the car is in park rather than trying to drive and mess with it. Take a hike buddy!

I understand the frustration with not having the factory ipod integration but is your time getting a class action lawsuit going cheaper than one of the many other ways to make your ipod work? The PA11-HON2 adapter and nav pass thru cable are only going to run you $160 or so and you can order them today and be in business by the end of the week. I find it hard to believe that the ipod integration would've been a deal breaker in buying the car.
