iPhone 4S and TSX Handsfreelink
I've been told iPhone 4 worked great with the Acura HFL. But with bluetooth 4.0 in iPhone 4S, will it function properly? I have an 07 TSX w/nav for reference.
The BT 4.0 standard is backward compatible, so it should be fine. I guess we just need to have someone test it out just to be sure.
from CNET:
One of the lesser-known facts to emerge about the iPhone 4S yesterday is that it is the first phone to launch with Bluetooth 4.0, the latest version of Bluetooth. Not many products are available with Bluetooth 4.0 just yet--in fact, two of the most recent products to ship with Bluetooth 4.0 are also from Apple: the MacBook Air and the Mac Mini. Bluetooth 4.0 is backward-compatible with all other versions of Bluetooth, so you can pair existing Bluetooth headsets with the new iPhone without a problem.

I paired the phone with not problem.
Then I went the INFO menu to import the phonebook. It said it was "importing" but was still importing after 10 minutes. I'll try later but don't recall it taking that long using my old iphone 3G. I hope it isn't a problem with the iphone 4S since I've deleted my prior phone book.

I found the solution to this on another website. Basically, you sync up your Bluetooth with the car like normal. When you go to sync your phonebook as you normally would, allow it to try and then go into your iPhone 4S settings into the general tab, then into your Bluetooth settings, and click/touch the button that actually says HandsFreeLink. It will temporarily kill your Bluetooth connection but suddenly your iPhone's contacts will import into the navigation system. Problem solved!
