Interior Lights...problem

So my 2006 TSX, the interior map light, driver side, doesn't seem to be coming on with the other interior lights when you unlock the car. i thought it was burnt out, but i switched the bulbs with the passenger side, and both turn on, and the passenger bulb turns on with the unlock (but didn't turn on when it the same bulb was in the driver side).

is something just toasted, or is there a problem i'm missing?

silly question, but did you press the light? it has 3 settings, 1-off 2-on 3-on when doors are open/unlocked

the setting on the 2006 is a switch in between the two lights. so the setting applies to both lights. it's not set by pressing the individual lights. the switch is all the way to the left...on "door".

so oddly enough, i just replaced both bulbs, and before i put the plastic covers back on, it was turning on when the door opened, and dimming. but as soon as i put them back on, the driver side stopped working again.

I had this problem with my '08 and had to have the lighting unit replaced under warranty.

unfortunately mine is not under warranty, but i'll see what they say. my wife has it at the stealor now cause she needed new wipers and a recall item on the ECU cover that we never went in for.

when the passenger side light was not working on my 06 tsx, I thought it was out when I had the setting on for both lights-turns out I had to press the individual light on to get that setting to work. After that no problem

i'm not sure i get what you mean. the TSX light (in the center on the roof) has a switch that if you move it to the left, the lights come on when you open the door. if you move it to the right, they don't. right?

how can i check the ground on the lighting unit? i just may visit a junk yard! dealership said it's not worth replacing (i imagine they charge a fortune for it and didn't want to insult us after telling us it would be $175 to fix the actuator in the passenger door)
