Interior Conversion

Just curious as to how hard it is to convert a tan interior into a black interior. I've gotten a great deal on black tsx but it has tan interior. I don't mind it but it would be something I like to consider in the future.

No ones ever done it? Any idea how much it'd cost?

I've never seen it done on these boards. I think the least expensive way to go about it is to swap it out with another owner who has a black int for your tan. Or start calling junk yards.

If I recall correctly, you probably would need to swap the radio/navi head unit. Part of the trim is attached the radio. Tan interior has wood trim while ebony has the metal trim. Unless you want to keep the wood trim during the conversion...

I have not seen anyone do an interior swap before, and I imagine it to be expensive. You need to weigh your choices: good deal in a not so ideal combo, or your perfect combo after more waiting.

Think the headliner would be the trickiest part. Door panels are pretty easy, seats are pretty easy. Carpets fine once its all out. But like said above you really need someone who wants to swap to make it worth while. Even a totaled one will be a spendy venture to buy a complete interior.

This project is going to cost you a good couple thousand dollars and that's if you can find them at a junkyard that has them and in a fair condition.

You are probably better off just finding an exterior color that has a black interior or living with the tan interior on the black.
