hey guys...

i just bought a new tsx...not sure when it's coming in though. there's no silver ones around so i'll have to wait untill ones available.

my question is the salesperson told me there's a blue light that shines on the shifter area from the map light area. i think from some little hole. i couldn't see it because it was daylight when i test drove it. is this true? it's not really listed in the brochure and if it is i don't know what it's called. can someone verify this for me please or even better can someone post a pic or link me a pic that shows this.

yeah its true, theres one above your head also. Check around, its hard to get pics but there are some here somewhere

Yes there is. It is called ambiant lighting. If you have been in any newer Audi's they have it also but in red. This one looks much better. there are 2 lit areas.
1. The console down by the shifter.
2. Light also shines from above.

IF you look at the top of the picture you will see the light from above reflecting off of the radio display.

 

thanks a lot for linking those pictures. the lighting looks soo sweet. carbon grey exterior also is a sweet colour....to bad we don't have that colour up here in canada. i can't wait for my ride to come.

 

The light is much brighter when it's completely dark out and you're actually in the car. The camera does not do it justice and it is a really great touch by Acura to include this courtesy light.

 

The green light is not an LED, just a regular 12V bulb with a green filter....

 

I wouldn't recommend putting gum or something that can melt in that compartment. That green light is pretty hot, actually, sizzling.

 

Does it stay on all the time or does it have that "fridge effect?"On when open off when closed?

 

It comes on with your lights are turned on... so no fridge effect
