Insurance comparison

I'm looking to buy a new car soon, and I've been looking mainly at the tsx, the saab 93 linear, and the a4. But, given my demographic (single male, 23 yo), insurance is a big deal for me. I just got quotes today for each of these cars, and the tsx is considerably higher (about 300/year). The tsx apparently is rated slightly lower than the other 2 in crash ratings, and possibly is considered a greater theft target? I find this pretty disappointing, because the tsx was my first choice, but this makes it a little more interesting for me...did anyone else find that the tsx isn't too cheap to insure comparatively?

I was comparing the Mazda 6 against the TSX, with insurance coming to about $215 more per year on the TSX. That's the average of two quotes.

Well, I know rates have been discussed ad nauseum, but I wasn't asking about that...I'm more interested in the relative rates and if anyone else experienced that the tsx is expensive comparatively (or conversely, if someone knows of a company where the tsx is comparatively cheap). This is more important to me, as it is one of the overall cost factors that I will take into account to distinguish the different cars.

well, this is interesting...I actually just found out that the quote I got from my insurance agent was for the tsx w/navi, and that the navi increases the premium by about $130/yr - the non-navi is considered a class 20 vehicle, while the navi is a class 19, whatever that means. I find this pretty surprising...

Well i pay 4000 a year now for the tsx with 500 deductibles
a considerable increase from the 2800 i was paying for my 2003 accord coupe.
Of course on that one i had 1000 deductible.
I live in Paterson NJ which is a ghetto. and i was 24 at the start of the policy.
Now im 25 and by the time my current policy is up i will be living in a nicer area in NJ(less crime and less congested) so my insurance should go down alot.
I hope

Akay, don't hold your breath. I just moved to Voorhees when I got my TSX (from NC), and it's $2700 with 1000 deductibles for me. That's the BEST I've found. I'm a 26/male/no record and that's for 100/300, btw.

If anyone wants to feel better about their insurance premiums, just ask us in NJ. My insurance in NC was $900/yr for 50/100.
