Installing lip spoiler in the cold

I am picking up the rear lip spoiler from ebay this week but being that it is the middle of winter here in PA, I was wondering if I should wait until it warms up a bit before install it? Will I encounter any adhesion problems in the colder weather as opposed to the warmer weather?

It's a good question and one that I was pondering as well. I had planned on heating up my attached garage and if needed, warm up both surfaces with a hair dryer. (from a distance).

Mine should arrive next week.

i would recommend waiting, or warm up the spoiler and the truck to room temp as excited mentioned.

In order for the 3M tape to properly cure, the temp needs to be at least 60+ degrees Fahrenheit. Unless you plan on keeping your car in a heated garage for the entire day, I would personally wait until spring. I wouldn't take a chance on the extreme changes in temperature from taking it out of the heated garage into the cold...

^^

I would wait for favorable conditions. Several ppl have had problems with the corners/ends of the spoiler coming slightly loose anyway.

I think it would work if you had a heat gun (not a hair dryer) in a garage. But better safe than sorry!

That could mean waiting for the month of May here!!!!!

I guess I'm not as big of hurry to get it painted now.

I will have to come up with a plan B. Hmmm maybe take it with me on my spring trip to Arizona.

Plan C is to find a nice warm building.

If you have a garage and a heat gun, you should be fine. Its the initial adhesion that really makes the difference. If you can warm up the adhesive and keep it warm for 10 minutes, I'm thinking it should be ok.
