But obviously pcinoc does not think this is accurate?, In my precious vehicle, the MID always read between 1-2 mpg higher than actual, I always hand calculate, it is THE only way to ensure accuracy.

I just completed a round-trip drive from Vancouver, WA to Seattle. I have an '06 automatic.' At speeds of 80 mph I averaged 34 mpg on the car computer (that was in speed zones of 70). In speed zones of 60 I drove 70 (cruise) and had close to 35 mpg. After this trip, I now have less than 1200 miles on the car. I'd say this is pretty good mileage and I expect it to improve as the car breaks in.
