Infiniti FX...looks like a hi-top sneaker!
I was watching football yesterday and there must have been at least a dozen Infiniti FX commercials! The more I saw it the uglier it got!! The hood looks like it's eight feet long with a grill that's four feet tall. It doesn't look "right". With the cabin space located so far aft the whole package looks like a bad rip-off of a converse chuck taylor hi-top. There are only two things more ugly than the FX:
1) The Chrysler Crossfire
2) Buff-Daddy's BMW

1) Ass-tek
2) Maybach
3) Toyota Echo/Prius
4) Honda Civic Si Hatch (i know i'm gonna get flamed for this one)

Looks
Handling
Speed
Price
The only thing they got right are the seats and shifter placement IMO
I shake my head every time I see that car. Then again they're apparently selling them for 15K in the US which would be a good deal.

anyways....the maybach could have looked a lot better and distinguished for $300-400k. heck, i'd rather have a ferrari 360 Challange and a MB S55 for that many bills.

The Maybach is one of those very subjective designs. The front end looks like ass IMO but nice shape overall. I can see how someone would add it to their list of fugly cars and I can see how someone would simply want one.
What bothers me about new BMW designs is that we're being told by BMW that it looks good. Chris Mangle is suddenly playing god of the automotive world and telling us that this is the way cars should look. The Z4 is THE ugliest car IMO ever made even worse then the Aztek, and yes I've seen t in person and discovered that it looks ugly from every conceivable angle. The new 6 series is another droppie eyed droppie rear end disaster butit looks good because BMW says so.

Seriously..have you seen the interior of the Maybach. Its sick Its funny how most of the interior shots are of the rear seats..because I doubt any owner would ever see the front seats of that car.

Maybe 300-400 million
I could probably get a commuter train on some 38" chromed-out train rims for the price of a Maybach
Now that's
Seriously, though. It's easy to forgive the Maybach for its exterior foibles. I mean, the wood in that car was carried out of a rainforest on the backs of elephants in indonesia... seriously!
from Caranddriver.com
"Our test car had 80 pieces of Amboyna wood veneer—a hardwood with a burled and swirled grain that is carried out of the jungles of Indonesia on the backs of elephants."

I saw the Maybach at the NY auto show. It was on a pedestal and was roped off, but the doors were open and you could see inside. I was actually underwhelmed. Leather and massive amounts of wood, but it didn't stand out. There was just too much wood.

Honestly, I do think the new 7-Series is quite ugly. The Z4 is probably the only car to use the new Bangle look effectively. I think the new 5 and 6-Series look decent, but that upcoming X3 suv looks terrible.

It seems to be a mixed bag. it looks like the small Z-roadster (Z3 &Z4) sales have doubled in the past year-to-date (13,000 vs 6,000)
7-series sales are steadily declining, but still above the levels of the previous generation.
I'm not sure what's causing the spike in sales, although if I were to guess, I'd say better incentives and more competitive OTD pricing than they've had in the past.

As for the 6 those droppy headlights just look light ass IMO. Right Now MB is absloutely kicking BMW's ass when it comes to design, I mean IMO it ai'nt even close. How can anyone argue with the SL? its a gorgeous car. With the new BMW's designs their all arguably nice or ugly. But ugly for the most part. Mangel will be out as soon as they start to see their sales drop over a 3 or 4 year period and watch the resale value go to hell. Designs that don't look good to most don't fair well in the long run.

...the other day I had my first personal encounter with one of the new "mangled" bimmers, I have to tell you, the gag reflex was hard to suppress, right up there with other winners like the Aztek, Echo, and the new Caddies...I also have a tough time with the new crossovers from Nissan, which, to me, look like big roller skates...never seen so many new ugly cars!! On the other hand, whenever I take in the view of a TSX, I'm struck by how it seems to get better looking each time I look at it...
