Infant car seat in '07 TSX?
I'm considering buying a 2007 Acura TSX, and am wondering if it's a good family car since we have a baby on the way. Specifically:
- Anyone have experience driving in a first-gen TSX with a baby/infant carseat in the middle of the back seat?
- Is it comfortable for people sitting on either side of it?
- Does it restrict the driver from moving his seat back?
- How is it on long trips?
I'm 6'0" and my wife's 5'3" ... and often there'll be a pair of 5'7" parents riding in the back

We've got 14 month-old twins and I have successfully used my '05 TSX for transporting them, but only for short distances when the wife's Pilot isn't available.
The problem you'll run into is early on the baby seat needs to be rear facing for the first year+ which as you'll find out is almost impossible in any vehicle that isn't a large SUV. Make sure you test it before you buy it!! The front seats need to be fully forward to fit a rear-facing baby seat in the TSX.
Once they're front-facing, you'll be in better shape but its still a tight fit. The other thing that kills me is how the leather seats get squished when attaching the baby seats.
Best of luck & congratulations!

Someone stole "My Garage"
You can put the RF infant seat in the rear passenger seat just fine. That way, your relatively short wife can easily fit in her front seat, and you have free-range of the drivers' seat. I'm 6'2" and cannot have the RF infant seat in the middle or behind my seat, but it can fit nicely with my wife (5'7") in the pass. seat and the RF infant seat behind her.
You will need to have TINY passengers to fit two of them + the infant seat into the rear of this car. My sis-in-law is 5'0" and barely fit next to my mom (5'5") with an infant seat next to them. It was a squishy ride.
Get a minivan for your wife... they are the BEST -- better than any SUV, better on fuel, and honestly they drive so nicely. Get the TSX for yourself.

in the 24th and a half...
Gotta agree on the RF seat fitting OK behind passenger seat with just a small move forward...not the full forward someone suggested. Note that different seats need different amounts of room.
I have used a '06 TSX as secondary vehicle (my primary) for wife and daughter (born 1 month after TSX) with no real problems except the need to move passenger seat forward after a while with forward facing seat so she has sufficent leg room...then further forward so she doesn't kick it all the time.
Works fine, especially as a second vehicle...with the seat on the sides. Never used it in the middle because of the seat dishing, tends to be unstable. Go Cute Ute if you really need to do that...minivan is the best answer to five...

I'll join in...the backward facing baby seat for us had to be behind my wife because I'm 6'1" but she did ok and she's 5'8".
Now that my daughter faces forward, I kept her on the passenger side but if I take my niece and daughter somewhere then behind me is ok for short trips as kids like to kick the seat backs.
You'll be alright.

A slightly different question
How's the space w/o a carseat? I'm 5'7" and my wife is 5'4". I have a 13 and 11 year olds who are both about 5'1". Would we all fit in a '07 TSX and not have the rear passengers with their knees in the seatback?

Thanks! Yes, ultimately I'll have to load everyone in a TSX and see how we fit. We have an '03 Odyssey for long trips and carrying big things so the TSX would be more for getting me to work and occasionally carting the kids around to school, etc. I'm currently driving a '96 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon so the TSX would give up a few horses, about 60+ ft lbs of torque, and a couple inches in the back seat legroom. But from what I read the MPG should be 3-7 MPG higher city & highway.
