Increase mpg?

With all of the discussion about gas mileage I have a couple of basic questions.

1. Do "lifetime" air filters like k&n really increase mpg?
2. Can a new intake increase mpg?

I tried to locate the answers in the faq but had no luck.

Read this. This guy here that almost everybody on the toyota forums for trucks worships. He does his own tests with pretty much everything.

Theoretically you do get better gas mileage with mods like that. HOWEVER, you usually will see decreased gas mileage becasue when you have more power you are more tempted to have a lead foot.
