I was thinking about the RX-8. I love rotary engines!! They are a real scream to drive. I wanted sporty and functionality and the RX-8 seemed to have it. Mazda has been sending me all kinds of gifts to get me in the showroom - an RX-8 book, red metal travel mug, red thermos, special edition of Road and Track. I stopped by the Mazda dealer last week to see one. The interior is definately cheaper quality and the 6-speed wasn't nearly as smooth as the TSX. I have very mixed feelings about the design. Their money went into the engine - and wisely so. I walked away satisfied I made the right decision for me. The S2000 is a better comparison for the RX-8. I guess I'm just growing up... finally.

I was THIS :pee: close to getting the RSX until the dealer told me about this new 4-door version coming out called the TSX. So, if the TSX didnt exist, I'd definitely have purchased the RSX in Indigo blue.

I was all set to get another F150 4x4, the 04 model, which I saw for the first time last night. That fuckers SWEET. But I really don't need a truck, and when I started looking at cars, the G35 Coupe was the only thing that made me horny:P. I'd seen the TSX brochure and commercial and didn't like it. When no deals were to be had on the G35, I started looking Accord Coupe. The Accord just doesn't do it for me, and leaving the Honda dealership I decided to go to the Acura dealer, once I saw the TSX it was over for me. I realize some people find the TSX bland, but I'm not one of them. The bang for the buck factor with the TSX is incredible. I also think the car looks AWESOME.

I wouldn't be buying another car. I've been ready to buy a car for a few years, but I did not like the direction of the Accord--being bigger with bloated awkward styling. To me, the 2003 Accord is the anti-Honda Honda.

I would still be driving in my old Accord 2-door. I have to admit, that I have been a bit smitten by the Mini Cooper, but it's sooooo small. Some people say it's like driving a go-cart.

In fact, I'm still awaiting the arrival of my TSX. It's going to be late.

I would have ridden out my Maxima lease, then probably went with a 325xi or an A4, and prepared for 5 dealer visits a year. Then again, I would not have to wait 40+ days to get either, but based on this site, it will be well worth the wait.

Well, I haven't bought a TSX yet (and won't for a year or so).

However, if the TSX hadn't come out, I would still be happy with my 1.7EL. It *is* a decent car, after all....but next to the TSX, it hangs its head in shame. I'd also probably be looking into building a house for myself...but, that can wait....me want new toy first!

I had driven the 325i, the 528, the C230, the Audi A4 1.8T, the Saab 9-3 Linear, Arc, and Vector, and was not really happy with any of them. I had a year left on the payment on my Grand Prix and did not really start considering getting a car before it was paid off until the TSX came out. I loved the way it looked, went and test drove it and wanted to see what the dealer could work out. I did not HAVE to have a new car so that is why I walked out on the dealer when they would not negotiate much with me (and gave me a 6.9% apr). 3 days later and down to a 3.79% apr and I was in the TSX for the same payment per month. If it didn't come out, I'd still be in my 99 Grand Prix GT Coupe.

I tried a 325, a G35 coupe, a WRX... I was going for a G35 until I tried the TSX... For the price difference, I felt I was getting a deal with the TSZ.

The 325 is a great car but it is much more expensive (price tag AND insurance costs).

I still be driving my full load Mazda 6i. Mazda 6 is good, but TSX is better. Plus, I'm a Honda freak (bought a Mazda because 03 accord sedan is ugly )

I would have considered an A4 1.8t Quattro. BUT, may not have bought it as the reason why I was shopping for a new car was because my POS Jetta had so many problems and the A4 is essentially still a VW.

So, I would've considered a 3-series or a G35 coupe if the interior wasn't so damn cheezy.

Boy...everytime I see an A4, I still drool. They are absolutely beautiful! Perhaps as a second car? Yah right...I better wake up now.

Oh yah...not that I'd ever get one or anything but I really dig the Scion XB.

I probably would have went with the 04 maxima. I was about to get the 03 maxima and then found the TSX!!!!!! I was always a fan of maximas.

I would gotten most likely the MB C230 Sedan, and if not the A4 1.8T or the g35 coupe. However i still didn't get the TSX yet so anything can happen.

I was sorta looking at the Altima 3.5 SE and then the new Accord Coupe v6. I really liked the interior of the new Accord Coupe, but the exterior just didn't look right. When the TSX came out, I knew that would someday be my car... and someday...whenever my order it gets here it will be

I could not afford it, but the G35 sedan was my first choice. The base price that Nissan advertises ~$28k is impossible to locate. All of the dealers in my area have the G35 optioned out the ying yang. It typically lists for $34k in my area. I have never liked optioning out cars. I think that it hurts the long term value because after a few years no one cares that you got the "comfort package" or the "winter package". In my opinion this is one of the strong pluses of the TSX. Our value will not be hurt because x number of people choose the cloth seats instead of leather.

I could afford and considered the Maxima. I have always liked them from a far. When I heard Nissan was releasing a new one I was excited. However, when I saw it at the '03 Philly auto show I was disappointed. I think that it looks very awkward. I do no like it at all. The sky lights/windows are retarded. The chrome-like front grill looks very cheap. I can imagine what they will look like in a few years when the chrome plating wears off. I also think that the dash is too big.

I wanted to like the Accord, but it too seems awkward to me. I love the interior though. I do love the coupe version. I think that it is one of the best looking coupes out there. However, I am a sedan guy. Always have been.

Other than that I am not sure. I guess I would have been researching what is out there. I was sick of my '97 Civic LX. I really needed a change.

Great question! Also, no regrets. I really enjoy my TSX. It has exceeded my hopes and expectations in many regards. I appreciate all of the thoughtful details, engineering, and design. I bought my first house last year. It is new construction. I wish that it has half as much the quality and design of the TSX. If you guys think that your TSX has rattles you should walk around my house. Every darned room has very annoying floor squeaks!!!! My TSX only has two minor rattles and they are usually only present when I play music with too much bass.

I was looking at the G35, IS300, Accord V6, and TSX. The first two was over my budget of $400 p/month so my final decision was between the accord and TSX. the accord was too big for me and the TSX was the right size plus sportier so went with the TSX!!! else wouldve gotten accord V6

I'd still be driving my Camry, and would have test driven the Mazda RX8 and Audi 1.8T

Then, after realizing I want reliability and enough space for 4 + cargo, I'd have settled for the Graphite Gray '04 Accord EX 4-cyl sedan 5-speed with leather (because the V6 sedan isn't available with MT )

With the extra money that would have saved me (over the Audi/Mazda), I'd have purchased a sweet built-into-the-house barbeque.

Me so glad that Acura came through with the TSX

I came sooo close to buying an A4 1.8T Quattro. Beautiful car inside and out, except for the obsurdly misplaced cupholders. I test drove a 5 speed 1.8T w/out Quattro and was pretty satisfied. I figured the Quattro version would be even better and worked out a great deal at a local dealer. So I go there with my checkbook thinking I'm gonna drive that baby home that day. The salesperson suggests that we take it out for a spin before signing the paperwork to make sure everything's in order. Big mistake (for them)... The car felt very sluggish compared to the non-Quattro version. Also, the alignment was a bit off and was pulling to one side, but that wasn't really a big deal to me because it's easily fixable by the dealer. After the test drive, I do a walk-thru of the car and notice a small ding in one of the rear doors. That, as they say, was "the straw that broke the camel's back". To make a long story short, I called off the deal and bought the TSX a couple days later. It's funny how things work out sometimes...

Since I wrecked a Lexus SC300 (1995 w 90k) and had to buy a new car, the TSX came out right in time.......if it had not, I would have had to move up to the BMW 330coupe and pay the extra $250 a month for 5 years, but maybe would have found the perfect replacement for my Lexus - at a much higher price though.

For the value, the TSX fits just as well and is an excellent highway car - just not enought torque for city stops and starts IMHO)

I would have bought a G35 sedan, or a 3.5 Altima. I like the G35 much better than the Altima, but it's a lot more money. The TSX was the answer. I drove my old car to the dealer and drove out in my new TSX.
