I think I got a great deal (08' TSX)

Hello everyone...

I was just able to scoop up a brand new 08' TSX 5AT/Navi/Body Kit Blue Pearl for $28K. Car was sold at $26.6K invoice (including $670 destination) while the add-on's were sold at invoice..

At first I was thinking body kit and rims, but I figured rims would make the car look a bit too flashy.

Originally the salesman came back with a $490 monthly fee with 3K down for all the above and I said not around $400 (I'm paying $345 right now for my 05' TSX).. Came back with $405 monthly payment tax included..

Mother also picked up either an 08' RDX or 08' TL (she hasn't decided yet as she's upgrading from an 05' TL).

BTW, this was at the First Acura in Seekonk, MA.

Full Body Kit and Navi..

As for another TSX, it's honestly the only Acura I can imagine myself in. I have no need for a TL and I don't have a family (22 yrs old) or don't need a larger sedan (6'1" and 190pds). Plus my 05' has treated me incredibly well only having to change the tires and regular maintenance.

Only other Acura that even possibly interests me is the TL-Type S, but that's a bit out of league right now (I make about 35K a yr).

Congrats on the '08!!

I got a pretty good deal on my car as well.

I bought mine used....
6 months old, 6900 miles.... $22,700 before tax and title. And there was nothing wrong with it...flawless. Good deals feel good. And as far as rims, there are many options IMO other than stock that look very classy but not flashy. Happy trails with the new car and again, congrats!

Sounds like a great deal. I bought an 08 without nav, for 500 less, so your deal is really good. They did make money on the deal in some way. Did you finance it? If so that is were they made their juice, unless you did the three years at 2.9%.

I need to speak to them tomorrow about prices especially because on their website, they list an 08' TSX and an 08' RDX for much less of a monthly price (lease) with a similar amount down that I did.. My brother looked into it and it seems that there may be some sort of a catch. Possibly could be that Graduate program their doing now..

how long is the lease for and how many miles are you allowed. since i drive too many miles leases are not worth it for me. I heard that if you lease try to put down as little as possible. If your car is totaled say goodbye to that down payment.

I was quoted $209 for a non Nav with 2200 down. The lease rate changes when add Nav, because Nav doesn't have any residual value. The total cost of the Nav is calculated into the lease. That is why I didn't buy Nav. If Honda doesn't think it has value, why should I. I bought a $200 Magellan and use it in all my cars when I need it.

Based upon the resale value of the car, I bought it. With 2.9% money for three years, the payment is $850 a month. You may say I am crazy to have a payment like that, but I was planning to pay cash for it, so I keep the $30K in savings and financed it since they won't give you a rebate if you don't take the 2.9%.

36months/3K down/10,000 miles..

I need clarification on a majority of things as I'm looking on their website and they have lease specials for $309 a month with 3K down.. Obviously that doesn't include anything, but I'm still a little weary when he said that $405 a month with 3K down includes EVERYTHING (which in my eye would be all the adds on <---nav, spoilers, etc)..

i think that has to due with the fees and first payment not the add-ons. I am not 100% sure as I am not into leases but check.

Whoa..I just think it's crazy that you bought a TSX on that salary..

I guess it depends on cost of living, etc, but I make a bit more than you, my parents lent me one of their houses so no $$$ wasted on living expenses, and I still putt around in my beater 99 civic lol...

Update:

I went back today and they raised the invoice to 29K since they had to pick up the car from another dealer, but they lowered my monthly payment from $405 to $382 and threw in the rear spoiler.

Well when I first bought the 05' TSX, I was making 19K a yr.. But keep in mind I do live at home. I do pay for a majority of my expenses (everything but food and clothing). though..

1) 08 blk/ebony AT w/ Navi - $28800 (invoice on www.truedelta.com shows as $28511)

2) A-spec body kit (no rear wing) = 880

3) A-spec suspension = 600

4) Acura care 8/120 w/ $0 ded. = 1300

5) Xzilon exterior/interior; venturshield full nose; tint = 1200

6) Doc Fee = $250

7) Installation price for body kit and suspenion & 4-wheel alignment = $700
did i get a good deal? now, i'm not so sure any more

biswasd,

I leased with 3K down and 36 months/10K.

Originally, invoice was $28,500 (which is invoice) for the royal blue pearl/ebony AT w/navi. Yesterday he said it was $29,000 due to the car having to be picked up elsewhere. Ok that's fine, $500 above invoice is a good deal for an 08' model..

I added on the full kit (all spoilers) for an MSRP of $32,719.. Funny thing at first was that I asked about the rear-wing spoiler and the MF went from .00385 to .00185 and the total Invoice price went from $1880 to $1719 (essentially meaning he sold me the accessories at invoice). Anyhow, Invoice (sold at) was $30,719.. He came back with a figure of $382 a month with the aforementioned figures down.. Make sense I suppose.

Upon returning home, my brother did a bit of research and used the formula found on http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm, which is used by a majority of the automotive world, and our leasing figures (monthly wise) are completely off. We're talking $382 (their price) vs. $301 our price (same options, MF, RV, downpayment, MSRP, Invoice, etc). Time to make a call today I suppose.

Same issue with my mother's 08' RDX. $390 quote vs. $345 lease calculator..

Any thoughts?

My car was picked up from another dealer but they didn't raise the price on me...In fact, they offered to put it on a truck for delivery but that would've costed me extra money so I said no.

Where abouts in NB?? If you don't want to list exactly, just PM me. Perhaps we can meet up sometime.

Anyhow, the salesman was Kenny DaSilva. Helpful, polite and definitely worked to get us the best deal. Still working out some kinks (having an error figuring out how he came to the monthly lease price as it seems he's including the security deposit even though we're leasing again), but overall pretty satisfied.

I received a great deal from the nice guys at John Holtz Acura in Rochester. They were able to dealer etrade a 08 TSX RPB/Ebony - 6Speed/Navi from a dealership somewhere in New England. Expeceted around the same time my My lease is expires in October for my 04 NBP/6sp/Navi.

I didn't realize until requesting this combination how rare it is (6speeds/navi combo alone). Does anyone know what the approximate build numbers by color/transmission/navi for the various years?

Smart.

The car was delivered last Saturday.. Picked up yesterday to install the rest of the accessories (kit and spoiler). Delivered today with everything on. The car itself is sharp. The Royal Blue Pearl looks sharp and super clean. It practically looks black at night

Still fighting with the dealership as they said they'd inspect the vehicle and get a sticker. Does this sound right to any of you? Are you suppose to inspect your new vehicle or does the dealership typically do this?

BTW, anyone with an 08' and the Spoiler. Does it look like the newer spoilers are more redefined and lower than the older models (I'm thinking of the 05' my brother has).

I leased an 08 TSX with Navi a couple weeks ago for $2323 down and approx $350+tax, which comes to $371 a month. I originally put $2700 down, but I canceled some warranty they sold me to make the deal go through to get another $377 back. I did the 36 month lease @ 12k miles. I also got the protection package thing with the wheel locks, mud guards, and trunk tray. And they tinted my windows for $160 (I did that more for the convenience than anything). Any thoughts??

Hey guys....This is my first post!

I just got the 2008 TSX Navi today...The voice activated navi system is sweeeet. It was the TSX or an Altima 3.5, but without the Navi (and more than $100 more a month), the TSX was an easy choice.

I got it for $505/month leased for 48 months...Technically I put $0 down...except for $500 deposit for first month and then $1243 upon delivery for all that crap they make you pay.

I feel I got a great deal...I just sat there staring at the guy for hours until he gave me what I walked in wanting, which was $500. I also got him to throw in the iLink since the stupid Acura ppl don't know what an MP3 is yet, lol.

Congrats on your purchase.

I could never lease a car! Last year I drove or 20k miles! This year should be a bit less as I live much closer to my girlfriend, and I'm carpooling with a co-worker. We swap with having one person drive Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the other drive Tuesday and Thursday. It works out really well.

I've been debating purchasing an '08, but I don't think it'd be the wisest of decisions as I want to purchase a home before the market starts to go up again! My ol' 04 does the job.

I'm going to be visiting DCH Acura in Montclair, on Saturday. It appears they have a lease special on the 2008 TSX Base model, for $269/month and $1499 down.

How realistic do you think this is?
What will the payment actually be after taxes, fees, etc.?

So I started getting in touch with dealers to get some quotes, and came across a dealer that had an 07 in the combo I wanted. Told him I know 08's are selling for invoice and below, so if I was going with an 07 I'd be looking for a decent discount. Of course he does "not know of any dealer going anywhere near invoice on the car." Also the prices people claim they paid are "unrealistic." And they're giving me a "steal of a deal" at $26,500 on an 07 with ~100 miles on it (reason enough to stay away, since this is a 6mt)...

Sigh, I hate buying cars. Every time I get stuck dealing with people who "never heard of their car going under MSRP"...
