It should go under the Comprehensive or Specified Perils portion of your coverage...

My cars seem to always attract little animals....luckily my TSX hasnt yet (knock on wood)

I've killed a cat, 2 squirrels and a chipmunk.

The cat was seomthing which i'll remember clearly as it was pitch dark and saw the 2 glow in tha dark eyes stare at me and tried to dart back to the side.....it didnt make it as i heard it go thump hitting my lower bumper and went under my wheels.....didnt leave a mess but had a small dent

I remember one summer in Toronto where on the highway a stray dog was running around....luckily no one hit it and it caused many cars to slow down

OK, seriously - I do feel badly about the dog but there's nothing much anyone can do to dodge anything at any speed if it runs out too close to you. I'm more angry about the pet owner who would let that be possible.

Some years back I was driving a 4X4 Suburban on a highway at about 70MPH when a German Shepherd came running across the three lanes. I took it square in the centre of the truck. The dog went UNDER the truck and it's speed took it out the right side between the front and rear wheels. I last saw it headed east off the highway REALLY REALLY fast. I was relieved to see it running.
??

I think you misunderstood my post.

Almost there.

It would be covered under comprehensive and not Specifed Perils.

even with a hit that hard, my alignment was ok. i took out a giant armadillo with the tsx, and the aligment was fine. my insurance has always covered my various run ins with animals.
You're lucky that's ALL that happened!

man you guys are so cold, nobody thought about the owner of the pooch ?
what if it is your pooch that didn't come home ?
original poster you should report to police and maybe try to contact the owner & let him/her know it.

Ok, i didn't hit any live animals or creatures, but on the highway some time ago, this dude in this beat up camaro was trying to race me. I had a new '96 TL at the time. At 110mph, that dude's spoiler flew off and hit the front of the new TL. after he realized his spoiler came off and hit me, he gunned it. But I had a '96 TL and he had a old old camaro, so he couldn't get far. He then pulled over, admitted he was just scared and gave me his insurance info. insurance paid for a new front bumper...$1,200.

I just buffed the scratches out

Does auto insurance cover you for hitting an animal? My damage wasnt enough to warrant it, but a new bumper certainly is.
I to ran over racoons, a family of three racoons one night, they were like in the middle of the road, I was tired and didn't really see them. I hear a thump noise and my front and rear tires lifted up a bit. I stopped to see what happend and any damage to my TSX. I look to see the racoons, two were dead and the other one ran away.

Not a very pretty scene!

Yea I'm a bit sensitive on this post too, because my old dog died this way and left our family very sad. Sorry to hear about your car, but sorry about the dog even more.
