Sauceman, what highway in what area was this in?
Actually deserted highway or not, you're lucky a rabbit or some bigger creature didn't run on the highway in front of you.
How long did it take to get that speed?

nice to know where the limiter is. I got my 6MT to 230 kph and didnt hit the limiter. I think it is ideal though, pretty much maxes out the tsx anyway, the 210kph shift point from 5th to 6th pretty much is it for the go, after that the needle slowly creeps up.

I've worked at several different car dealerships, everything from Ford to Jaquar's, and know it's a fact that the car's computer is always checked when major warranty work is needed.
Take a look at your warranty book..... I'm sure it says "under normal operating conditons" and "not due to owners fault". Driving a car 140 mph will definitely void any and all warranty issues, even with a high speed vehicle such as a Porsche of Ferrari.
My last 2 cents on this issue.

they both have 4 wheels, one hood, one trunk... Other than that, I agree you can't compare them...

1. You cannot just void someone's warranty at a dealer. It has to be executed by someone that ranks at the level of District Parts and Service Manager or higher. All the dealer can do is make the recommendation that a car deserves to be voided. It can only be considered if there is GOOD REASON that there is abuse that has resulted in a failure that they fell should no longer be covered.
2. Our ECUs are not history data loggers. The purely store "freeze data" upon detonation/failure. Freeze data is the last vital statistics when an engine ceases or blows. Our cars are not like Porsches or Ferraris where it stores just about everything for analysis. Basically, unless yourt engine blows at an excessive speed, there is no log of the event of high-speed driving.
Side note:
I vouch for Sauceman on the speed. I have gone in the 144-145 range (according to the speedo) on a number of occaisions. I usually go to Houston every couple months and test it out on there. Our car hits an aerodynamic wall once you get up there anyway. I-10 gets pretty straight for about 80 miles where Highway 71 intersects between Houston and San Antonio. It has also been repaved in the last year. This really helps.
I am also not on the stock rubber, as my sig also indicates my other mods. I wouldn't be testing the speed on the OEM Michelins. I don't care if they are speed-rated to hang. I don't trust them at higher speeds. Their sidewalls SUCK.
