I have a couple TSXs to choose from, please help me make a decision

Hello Everybody,

My bimmer is up for sale and i am looking at these acuras, i REALLY want a navigation but i realize that there maybe factors that you tsxers may know more than i do, so im wondering if you guys can help me.

BTW by local dealer, i mean those dealers that are not specifically honda, acura, lexus or any other car, just a random named independantly owned dealer.

Thanks for helping!

1) 2006 Acura TSX with 23k no nav/Silver/black NO NAVI abt price 16k (Lexus Dealership)

2)2006 black on black With 57k price 17k ( Texas local dealer. bought one car from them before. excellent experience bt 57k, also was kind of hoping for a gray car)

3) 2006 black on black 84k with NAVI! 16k (local dealer)

4)06 black on black no nav with 40k is 16k (local dealer)

5)06 with 54k gray on black with NAV seems a bit dirty-Not a
big dealer ship, small dealer ship asking 15k.

6)06 with 85k gray on black one owner asking 13k

I voted for the lowest mileage. It all depends on how badly YOU want nav. Do you want to sacrifice lots of mileage for a nav system? I personally wouldn't. I'd rather have a regular GPS (not in the dash) because that way, I can take it out of my car and into another car.

you also risk theifs breaking your window and doing other damage looking for the nav. a friend got her car broken into just bc a thief saw the sunction cup marks that were left on the windshield. not worth it IMO. OEM is better anyway and adds more functionality to the car.

to the OP, nav is definitely worth it. you might want to keep looking though. I noticed that a lot of the cars you posted have pretty high mileages for 06.

I vote for the lowest mileage one with navi. I guess that would be #5.

However, make sure you do a Carfax on each one and make sure there are no issues. They all seem a bit high in mileage for an 06.

My budget is about 16.5k because id like to purchase it in cash, everything else is 20k+.

Nav is nice because its a great addition to a car, this is a car il be with for a long time, i want to get a nav because its very useful. But i am not really willing to compromise warranty and reliability for a nav, because i could always get a factory one put in.

I also am kind of fond of the new car smell. that would be kind of nice to have.

if you want a new car smell that would mean a car payment. Do you want that. My 2 year old 06 tsx still has the leather smell after 65,000+miles. It is garage-kept and no smoking allowed. I would suggest you keep looking until you get the tsx you want since you plan on keeping it for a long time. Do not settle for a car you will not be happy with.

I like all these, the only thing what it comes down to is Navi or not, i test drove an 04 with 40k and it still had the new leather smell.

Which one of these do you guys think is the best bet?

Number 1.

> ...because i could always get a factory one put in...

Not true. You can always purchase one to stick on the windshield.

I prefer non-Nav because I would rather have a portable Nav. The dash looks better, a portable Nav is portable, the Nav DVD reader takes up essential (for me) trunk space, the Nav is apparently rather slow booting up, and the car with a Nav depreciates a little faster. I like pulling my Garmin c320 (older unit) out of the car and doing the way-points at the desk or table. I like being able to use it in another vehicle -- sometimes a vehicle that I do not own. My wife likes being able to pull the Nav unit off the windshield, while we are traveling, to do routing or lookup.

I have the NAV in my TSX, and have tried several porta-NAVs in our other no-NAV cars.

Simply put, while the TSX's nav has it's shortcomings (plenty of them, actually), I hate, Hate, HATE, HAAAAAAATE dealing with the portable navs. Did I mention that I hate them?? I don't even use them anymore - they just sit in a drawer in the house.

Coming from a Bimmer, you are really gonna like the Acura/honda reliability.

Voted for #5, it has Navigation system with lowest miles possible in that configuration.

I voted for number two just because it only has 3K more miles than the other one, and I like the color combo. I know you said you would rather have gray, but that's how it goes.

Your best bets are options 1 and 5

with Option 5:
You r getting what you want (Navi)
You r paying $1000 less
Its true it has more mileage, but If thats a concern, then you can use the $1,000 u saved for extanded warranty..hint its an Acura
Gray on black is good color comb.

Good luck

#1 due to the lowest mileage. We have NAV and use it about 5% or less. Buy a nice portable unit. I have an '06 with only 8K miles....and nope, it is not for sale!

I picked #1 simply due to mileage. All the others seemed a bit high for an 06. And as nice as the factory nav may be, my TomTom 920 does me just fine. I've got a custom mount for it below the climate controls so no suction cup marks on the windshield. And like JimHolloman said, I like being able to hook it up to the compter and doing all my trip planning there and just downloading it to the TomTom. And when I fly, it's nice to be able to pack it up in the suitcase and use it in the rental.

Unfortunatley number 1 sold.

Now i am looking at #5
and
number 7...

Its a 2006 silver on black, again, little dirty no floor mats, navi asking price is 16995.

Hoping to pick it up for 16k-16.5 OTD.

BTW I SOLD THE BMW YAY!

You guys have no idea, i have been trying to sell it for the past 6 months! NO ONE EVER BOUGHT IT. Today, all of a sudden BAM. guy shows up from craigs list, within 1.5 hours, the cars gone and i still feel liek i dont know wtf just happened.

Good bye, and here comes a brand new chapter. I really hated the uncertainty with the BMW. I am glad im switching back to honda.

I voted for 5 because 1 was already sold. ( that was a great deal if you didn't need the navi)
It seems like you need the Navi.

i would get the 06. i think the 06+'s are waaaay better then the 04/05's. (no offense 04/05 owners). a lot of problems that plagued the earlier model years were worked out in 06... plus the engine/exhaust components were upgraded too.

I would go with the 2005 if it is local to you. Both of those are great deals however.

I had/have no issues in my '05... the '04 is the year that seemed to get most of the bugs. The only "significant" thing that I personally believe the '06 has on the '05 model is bluetooth. I prefer the front end styling of the earlier edition, and while the '06 gained a little performance increases with a better flowing cat, I personally don't consider it worth $3k more. I don't think you can go wrong either way... you'll have to decide how much it's worth to you.

I think it was a slight increase in hp (5hp), I think memory seats, exterior design changes between 05 and 06. Also, bluetooth as someone else mentioned Also, if you're going with auto tranny, you have the option of Hondata on 06 while in 05 it wasn't available.

which one do you want. I have an 06 that I love but the 05 sounds like a good deal. I would want to see the car in person so I can look at it and test drive it. I like having the maintenance minder, bluetooth, etc that the 05 does not have.

That genuinely surprises me every time I hear it but styling is subjective so.....

Your other thread says number 5 was 15k. I guess that 17K is an out the door price?

06's seem to be a great year that you can't go wrong with. Enjoy.

Actually, i misread it, it was 15.9k

Then on the bottom it said

Price is with 1995 down and 695 doc fee. I then realized the listed price was 17.9k. i got it for 17,210 + airfare+ 2 tanks gasoline.

That comes out to 17k. It is from NY. Wish me luck, i fly out @ 8am tomorrow morning.

I think the 06 is very very sleek and just wow, but when i see the 05 its like oh, its like my previous CL-S

No offense to ANYBODY!.

BTW- THanks for merging the threads, i felt kind of bad making a new thread but i really needed to put a deposit down that is why i did that.

Ok I just bought the tsx but I was pissed at the dealer when I came for it the trunk has slot of scratches and needs to be repainted and the rear bumper..... I'm just gunna get a new one and there is vibration at 60+mph so I know it needs an alignment and sometimes I hear a clunk so I negotiated it down to 16.8k and I'm gunna have him fix the shaking. I'm still in ny in valley stream. I'm leaving at noon

Hope everything works out for you. Does not sound like the previous owner or owners took very good care of the car. They must have used the trunk as a desk. Nothing is allowed on the top of my trunk. I guess you did not leave at noon-where do you have to drive to.

Overall I'm satisfied. I made them replace a tire put new brakes on and give me a new navi cd. If ur in the new york area never shop at kaz auto group. It's ny there will be scratches and dents. Only 2 major things- trunk needs new clear coat and new rear bumper and 2 scratches and a few dents need to be fixed with paintless dent removal. Other than that it's an awesome car, way faster than my BMW but I guess that's what you get for buyig a cheaper 06 I paid 17k

i voted for the first one because that car is perfect except it has no nav

one thing for sure, you'll regret you didn't get the nav on the long run.

so i say keep searching
