I don't have bad luck like that TSX CSI dude...

but I did have an annoying driving incident happen to me yesterday. I was driving down Lakeshore in Toronto and a stupid truck kicks up some sort of metal piece off the road and it heads straight for my car! My gorgeous blue TSX that is 3 weeks old!!!

So I manage to hit the brakes and try to swerve, but I caught the junk with my front skirt. Now the skirt has a nasty gouge in it. (No pics yet...)

It isn't a horrible mess or anything, but my car which looked perfect and still had that new car shine on it now has this ugly black gouge on the front spoiler and I am pissed off.

Does anyone know if polyurethane is easily repaired? I would hate to have to hand my car in to a body shop for 2 days just to fix a 3 inch gouge on some plastic and have them hose me over for it. Can I pick something up at an auto-centre (like Canadian Tire for you Canucks out there) that fixed these sorts of things?

By the way, sorry CSI dude...I would lose my mind if those things happened to me.

That's jacked up calling him out like that... lol
I think he feels bad enough without you pointing it out. Have some respect man.

Anyway, is the 'urethane damaged or is the paint/primer scratched off?

No disrespect intended...I really do feel for the dude. Maybe putting it in the title wasnt a great idea though.

As for my car, the urethane is damaged, not just the paint. Thanks.

They can shave it, patch it and paint over it. The paint job will make or break it. Figure $300.

I guess the ironic part here is that what happened to Roogs WAS bad luck IMO.

Hmmm...$300. I am not crazy about shelling out more so soon, but I know this is going to bug me. Maybe it's worth it just for peace of mind. Thanks!

How low is the gouge? If it's low enough, get the OEM body kit and just cover it up.

Sorry, I guess I should have been more clear. I already have the OEM body kit and the gouge is on the front spoiler.

Why try to repair it when a brand new factory painted front spoiler is only a few hundred bucks?

The estimate that i got for the front lip was about $450 painted and installed (but that was through insurance), BTW sorry about the PMS before, just thought i was getting attacked, Good luck getting your baby back to normal.

Thanks. But it appears as though the bad luck didn't end there. Coming out of a plaza on Friday night, a pick-up truck thought it would be a good idea to back into me. Great...more hassle. Not much damage, but this is one week I wouldn't mind giving back.
