i did something stupid

hey guys
i did something soo stupid.
it was rainin hard outside and as i got in the TSX, the door was all wet. i turned the iginition key and the engine came to life. so i went on wiping the door down. when i was done, i forgot the engine was on. it was soo quiet. i turned the key and it sounded like the car was choking.
did i do any damage to the engine? i drove around and it felt fine. please reassue me that everything is fine.

You probably damaged the flux capacitor. This capacitor is instrumental in ensuring that at the time you start the car, you won't have any future current overloads running through the alternator, which could set you back a couple hundered $$$...That would be heavy ...

The only "damage" you did was to "brake in" the starter. The flywheel was spining too fast for the starter to engage and the starter gear probably just glanced off of it. This would just take the sharp edges off the teeth of the strarter which would happen eventually with time. The teeth on the flywheel may have also been touched but usually those are harder than the starter teeth. Try not to do that too many times!
It would very unusual if any of the electrical parts were damaged.

very nicely said.

don't worry, your car will be fine, most damge you could have done, are chips to the starter and/or the flywheel. just don't get into the habbit of doing that. there was no damage at all done to your charging system or and eletrical parts.

Well this could have resulted in several alternate timelines. It would not be uncommon to have one of them cause you to not only go back in time and become your own grandfather, but to also kill yourself before you do this, so your father is never born, and you can't even exist.

Time paradox is not a plaything. Don't ever turn the key when the engine is running.

You're not thinking 4th-dimensionally!

Right, I have a real problem with that.
